I've spent most of this thread talking to myself ...

It was just an extension to my previous response to switch as I was interrupted during the first.

The argument that a currency devaluation is good is a dangerous one and depends on many factors. The UK is not in the best position at the moment.

Mark Carney, BOE Governor is now talking up free trade, THAT wanker should have been sacked 5 years ago - utter waste of space. You could have put a cardboard cut out of the whole committees in place and they'd have been more effective.

No one is arguing that a currency devaluation is always good as it clearly that isn't always the case although it's a useful tool for central banks to have and one the Southern European countries wish they had when shit hit the fan.

But in relation to the £ the Brexit vote was just good fortune as basically everyone was in agreement that the £ was overvalued and is now at a more realistic level. Obviously the sexual deviant in Pattaya will disagree.

Correct, but at least its not tied A La Euro. The lower exchange could be good...it depends. The thing that is consistently true is that economists and forecasters rarely get their predictions right and always, always lag the markets - otherwise they'd be setting it and retired on billions. So for a group of posters with opposing views on a Thai based forum to debate who is right - may be right, may be wrong...ah there we are consensus at last. Feeling good.

It may be your conclusion that the EU is not the problem, but many others would disagree strongly with that assertion.

What you seem to be forgetting is, that the U.K. is in a bit of a strict jacket when it comes to imports, as long as it remains in the EU. Once the U.K. has unfettered access to world markets, those imports take on a different perspective.

The EU is still desperate to break the UK ownership of global financial markets, a much more significant share of gdp.
They have made a few small dents there, but nothing to undermine London’s position as world leader.

Its a big mistake to use the U.K. performance inside EU, to measure its future capability in the real world. Remember that economic forecasting only exists to make astrology look promising.

Well now we at least know he's making money from a weak pound.

So his motive for wanting BREXIT is, as with so many of his ilk, purely selfish.

The comment you highlight is indicative of the vacuum he inhabits in his Crewe dystopia.

It seems my predictions of over a year ago are coming true. I told you Brexit mofo retards that the motor industry would not tolerate a threat to their supply chains as a consequence of the cretinous decision to quit the EU's SM and CU, a fucked up Tory decision made by May so that the Brexiteers could improve their trade prospects on the fucking planet Zog. But because Brexit wankers are universally dumb they ignored the motor industry's concerns and preferred to go with Johnson the Brexit Clown's policy of " Fuck business". Now they are doing what they said they would do, as I warned you all following my conversations with my acquaintances in BMW and Ford last year.
Globally, the car industry is having problems with changing technologies, emissions regulations and maintaining profitability. These are of course exacerbated by the lunacy of Brexit Britain and now they are acting as I said they would. BMW are shifting their production of the e-Mini to Holland, Nissan are scaling back in Sunderland and now Ford are quitting Bridgend and Dagenham for Germany.
    Honda/Toyota will be next.
You know, Putin couldn't do a better job of fucking over Britain.
Brexit, the spastic disease that just keeps on giving more misery but the kicker is, the Brexiteer moron is just too dumb to realise that his arse ache isn't a giant turd, it's him fucking himself.

Now because you are an idiot Brit without a functioning brain, whereas before you could board a flight and go to your house in Minorca for five months of the year, now you can't. You is fucked. Same same if you wanted to spend time in your gite in the Dordogne for six months between April and November, or you wanted to spend seven months in Puglia in your villa, or a long winter in Moraira avoiding the northern winter, you fucking can't unless you apply for a fucking visa,

from which murky recesses of your rancorous and pernicious consciousness does this ridiculous shite spew forth you miserable bitter baleful and deluded jeremiah.

do you seriously think that home owners will be denied access to their properties or tourists will be barred from crossing the channel?

at worst, 10 minutes online and a fee of a pavarotti at most will provide anyone who wants one with the required paperwork/visas to travel throughout europe and spend unlimited time there.

and criminal record checks ??? do me a lemon. you really are in a bad way.

in all probability nothing will change for uk citizens wishing to visit uk countries, or eu citizens wishing to visit the uk, other than some minor adjustments to entitlement to work.

these doomsday scenarios that you keep coming up with are signs of a severely depressive mental condition for which you would be well advised to seek urgent treatment for.

deal or no deal, nothing much will change on the travel front, rest assured.

and now Ford are quitting Bridgend and Dagenham for Germany.
a link confirming the imminent shutdown of these two plants please.

it is the eu imposed regulatory changes, reduced demand from china and the threat of usa imposed tariffs that will account for uk job losses at ford.

ford plants across the eu will be similarly hit.

Vehicle manufacturer Ford has announced plans to cut up to 400 jobs at their Bridgend engine plant, with further redundancies expected across European sites.

Tax, has your early morning defecation depleted the blood supply feeding your evidently ever shrinking synaptic neural network?

Which bit of " ....global problems....exacerbated by Brexit " did you not understand.

My chum in Ford said over 18 months ago that if their supply chain was impeded they'd close Dagenham etc. down.

Americans, like the Japs, don't do sentiment and Brexit is just a stone in their shoe.

No-deal means the loss of over 250,000 manufacturing jobs, dem's real jobs not the spastic anal hair strimming jobs most of the lower end Brits currently engage in when they are not getting drunk or more tattoos.
