Are you suggesting that the remain campaign was not undermining the immediate aftermath of the vote?

No ned to - your fellow Brits do a good job of it. Let's also cal a spade a spade - after decades of blaming all ills on the EU it is simply satisfying to see the vacuous, flag-waving council estate mentality Brits get smacked on the mouth. That's one reason.
If another country wants to leave the EU - no problem, no-one else has been whining and bitching so much despite having more benefits and opt-outs than anyone else by far.
Now that you're out you're STILL bitching about the EU. What part of 'you're out' do you not understand? Continuously brushing all your ills onto the EU is exactly why people are happy you've fucked out and are getting fucked over by your own leadership.
Covid 2020.
Brexit 2020, planed for years to be ready. Couldn't get your friggin' act together. Whined about rules and regulations you signed up to. STILL whining and not 'out' in your minds.
Good Lord . . . all economic facts notwithstanding . . . your economy is fucked. Your trading pacts are fucked. Your politicians are fucked. Your society is fucked. The opportunity you found was trading the EU for some backwater Asian trade deal in which you are second level . . . oh, and one with NZ to import even more and creating more shit for your trade balance.
This list . . . it's on Boris Johnson's iPhone . . . the one he sadly forgot the code to.
How did they undermine the economy, politics, foreign policy, your legislature, your court system, your tax system etc...? Your current leadership was in power then - try to apportion blame where it belongs.
Years later and you're still blaming everyone and everything else except where the blame lies - the people who voted for Brexit and the politicians who lied through their teeth . . . and keep spewing lies . . . which you still swallow.
I understand the curiosity of no passport holders and no residents. What I find slightly more difficult, is the unrestrained, Brit hatred and vitriol expounded by yourself.?
You dislike the country and the people, unreservedly, often referring to soap dodgers and similar name calling. Life is hard enough without your endless hated of everything British. We get it ok? No need for pointless repetition.
The parliamentary process was stalled by devious MPs, including the so called unbiased speaker of the HoC trying to reverse the public vote by every method possible, other than another vote.
This
I suspect they did not like the result of the public vote, and reared another failure?
These attempts went close to anarchy at the very highest level. Why do you think that was such a great advert for democracy?
The first people to backtrack, the morning after the result, was the Brexit brigade. Have you forgotten the Farage interview where he distanced himself from the battle bus. The whole Brexit campaign was based on lies and shouting over the voices of the experts.
Brexit was the most stupid of mistakes ever made in British history. It went against every aspect of being British and long may you suffer the consequences.
Easy - I illustrated it quite openly in the post you quoted. Years of watching soap-dodgers blaming everything under the sun on the EU . . . then you thankfully fuck off . . . and still blame everything on the EU. It's all fine and good throwing shot at everyone else but when it comes back the incredulity on your part is staggering.
Easy.
Actually, I don't . . . you're British and I have always held you in high regard . . . Hal, Mendip, Troy etc... as well.
Trying to make out that your whole nation is under attacks is ludicrous but typical. As for 'soap-dodgers', it's on the same level as your countrymen calling me 'boxhead, Kraut' (which is fine as they are only words and banter mostly) etc..., which seems to be quite ok with you. As above - receiving the same treatment as you dish out seems something incomprehensible to you.
I feel so sorry for the likes of Hal and Shutree (and tens of millions more, including businesses) whose lives, their children's lives, have been made more difficult because the great 52% unwashed masses swallowed every nationalistic diatribe offered.
Simple.
There you go again! (Unwashed masses).
I have no need to white knight for you regarding childish German ‘banter’ as you call it. You are normally too intelligent to fall into the trap of using such generalizations, but on this subject, you do seem a bit angry.
Im not a very political type and I object to being classed as a Brexit supporter. I try to see things from both sides, even if that makes me fence sitter.
In my mind, the EU political project tries to serve too many varied masters. As a trading block it has many good features, but the whole show has too many political influences. It was best left as a free trade organisation but has become fettered with political machinations.
Members are simply not allowed to dissent. Trade and politics are very different things, and they will never merge successfully. I can have no influence as an individual on these issues, so it’s a bit pointless trying.
I am only surprised the EU did not insist on another referendum, until they got the result they wanted? They have form you know.
And why not . . . what's good for the goose etc...
True, we agree.
Also true, we agree again
Incorrect. Absolutely incorrect and just the type of 'bendy banana' argument that highlights this whole Brexit clusterfuck based on lies.
. . . that is stopping Britain's rise into economic, social and political nirvana? Doesn't your party have the majority? Hasn't it had the majority?
'Remain skullduggery' - what a joke.
Brexiter PM BoJo closed down parliament!
'Taking back control'?
An utter joke.
Post Brexit Referendum vote to be precise. All polls and by-elections have shown a dramatic turnaround against the Conservative Party since Brexit.
Remain skullduggery? I would call it attempts at damage limitation knowing the outcome of the vote was going to be disastrous.
The majority of people now know Brexit was a mistake, polls show this by a wide margin, and Brexit politicians are getting a deserved slap in the face in the polls.
Eventually, the UK will swallow its pride and return to the EU, it's just a matter of when.
:D
One rat fewer left on the TD Brexiter's sinking ship.
To do otherwise would be an admission of idiocy or insanity.
cyrille and s.a.
a most unlikely pairing. one a hypocritical and sneering socialist expat with a fondness for oppressive dictatorships but nothing to either gain or lose from the democratic decision to exit the EU, and the other a disillusioned old windbag, his vivid dreams of grenache blanc fuelled evenings in provence or a cosy tax efficient retirement in the algarve cruelly stymied by the wishes of the racist plumbers, tory scum and rural housewives that trampled roughshod over the desires of those who thought that alignment with a ugly misguided protectionist superstate beholden to the domination of germany was a sensible course of action.
^ Judging from the problems my sister has had in Portugal and I have had in Germany, a wise choice buying in Pattaya.
^ been a bit hot i understand
^ Nope, not in deepest Bavaria nor Portugal.
what problems exactly?
A nice touch and more blame-deflection as usual

Tax accuses me of 'sneering'.
:smileylaughing:
Almost as much projection there as when he accused me of being...a taxexile.
Then a few days ago he arrived at the conclusion that willy must be unfulfilled living in an apartment.
He spent 20 years living in a Hua Hin condo.
