You never give any examples of this 'lack of knowledge', though.

In fact, you never back up a damn thing except possibly your own plumbing with all your bs.

You're just an intellectually slovenly retiree, killing time before his next purchase is snared.

Brexit morons cannot adduce any evidence to sustain the fiction that the UK will benefit from returning to the past because the entire premise was nothing more than a hoax confabulated by a bunch of geriatric right wing dinosaurs, and their fellow travellers seeking power in circumstances not otherwise available to them, deluding the stupid and the bigoted, a demographic so notably represented by frazzled idiots such as Chas etc.

Brexit, like Trumpmania and its contagion within the US, is simply confirmation that the British have now well and truly entered the era of The Stupid.

Not sure how that works. The UK cannot subsidise business, to keep a level playing field, while the EU spends a staggering 60 billion euros /year on farm subsidies. Apparently subsidies are only fair if the EU applies them.

    Plainly, you are an idiot.

The CAP scheme levels a playing field in a market that has to be balanced outside normal economic equilibrium because if there were no such interventions then we would quickly revert to the chaos of " feast or famine".

However, state subsidy of consumer-choice products in a free market leads to a predatory behaviour environment in which no independent corporate body can compete.

A case in point: if an airline is wholly subsidised by government funds allowing it to sell tickets at 40% of any other foreign competitor then clearly the foreign competitor will be discriminated against.

State subsidy is a difficult balance to achieve but in certain areas of deprivation if there are no other incentives to invest then government action may be the only option in which case there is a well managed policy among EU member states to achieve integration without damaging free enterprise.

That is what the issue is about. The Brexit mob want to do their own thing when it suits their own shill companies and crony tax-evading corporate chums which of course is what Brexit is about - a crony club of carpetbaggers and right wing Tory shysters.

    You fucking dozy clot.

However you try to describe CAP, it’s a deeply flawed and divisive system. Even the EU has been trying for years to remedy its failings.

All they have achieved is to reduce the size of a heavily biased clusterfuck. It’s still a massive clusterfuck though. Well managed policy my arse. No amount of sucking up to the French will allow you to escape your concrete dungeon.

You imply that you have seen the document but have failed to provide a link.

It is not just the Guardian that have reported on this document and its reasonable worst case scenario. The link below suggests the title of the document is:

"Preliminary set of Reasonable Worst-Case Scenario Planning Assumptions to Support Civil Contingencies Planning for the End of the Transition Period"

That's a mouthful of political hogwash in itself. However, feel free to provide a link to the actual document to show why the Guardian has reported it in a subjective manner that "cherry-picks" the worst parts....

He really is an utterly ridiculous clown.

He doesn't realise that posters who have extensive experience both of forums and of the fatuous expat clowns of SE Asia can see right through him.

That they can't see he offers no counterargument whatsoever.

That he has no back up to his assertions, and in most cases has not even read the material.

Perhaps we should just indulge him.

It's a system that has pretty much stabilised production, focused supply needs to meet the demands of the consumer and has maintained prices at a level whereby they have not exceeded the budget of the lower end for decades.

You are simply an idiot drowning in the trough of ignorance and vacuous rhetoric spewed by charlatans.

Repeating your earlier, error strewn assessment does not miraculously turn your opinion into fact. You neglected to mention that numerous French agricultural conglomerates have become very wealthy by abusing such a facile system. If the UK cedes fishing rights, the French and the Spanish fishing industry will go the same way.
You are a narrow minded, blinkered shitcunt when it comes to the reality of EU bureaucracy. I have to wonder what awful stains you left behind when parting company with the UK civil service.

You are another one who is happy to blindly follow assumptions and prediction, without considering all possibilities.
I advocate more of a wait and see policy, without falling into the socialist traps set by a fantasy based organisation that continues to suck poor countries into its clutches.
The fact that a worst case scenario has been considered at all, undermines your assertion that the current government has no real plan. Instead of rubbish IMG that plan, do you have any idea what else they might consider?
Sitting on the sidelines with your political and economic impotence is not hard at all is it? Starmer is really good at that.

Remove the scales from your eyes and you might get a glimpse of the bigger picture.

That is something you share with the Tories but there is no time left for that, they have already waited too long without preparing for what will come.
The report is written by the Cabinet Office, not by scare mongers, it is to be taken seriously and acted upon.
If not acted upon one then that suggests that Britain is gonna blink in a few month time.

You really are quite stupid and, like all Brexit imbeciles, terribly ill-informed. I suppose it resolves to your poor education and institutionalised conditioning as a squaddie that hampers your ability to think for yourself, to read intelligently and to comprehend sufficiently in order to form your own conclusions rather than rely on gormless rhetoric spouted by charlatans pandering to the lower end's natural inclination towards prejudice and bigotry.

The CAP provides a formula whereby grants and subsidies are given according to the contribution towards the agricultural sector by each member state.

Thus, France, which supplies over 20% of the EU's agricultural output, the largest contribution within the community, receives the largest funding.

But, all said and done, the UK received the same per capita funding, proportionate to its output, as everyone else.

The problem, as i said earlier Chas, is that you are quite simply too dim and ignorant to understand the issues but as we all know now, you and your ilk were in the majority hence the mess we are in now.

Stupid is as stuipid does, and boy you are dumb.

Incidentally, time to remind you again, UK fishing in GDP terms accounts for less than its mushroom farming output and employs less people. We shall of course draw a veil over the selling of fishing quota rights by British trawler men to the Spanish because they wanted to cash in and retire to their villas in, well,....Spain.

You buffoon, like fish in the barrel.......an EU barrel....har,har.

You are such a condescending twat, you seek to lecture me on how the EU works?
Your post starts with assumptions about me, based on what you want to believe.
    There’s that word again, assumptions.

For some reason you seem to feel the need to try and undermine me, simply because I don’t fall in line with your opinions or assumptions.
If you really were a better person than me, I would be trapped in a third world country that I hate, with no means of escape and salvaging a truly appalling investment made before the world was turned inside out.

    Sorry, but I’m not you.

Basing your assumptions on flawed opinions has not worked out very well for you has it old man? I don’t need any lectures from an old has been, who thinks far too highly of himself and his dumb opinions.

I read some press reports about some UK banks closing EU Expat customer accounts come 31 Dec due to lack of passporting rights. LLoyds and Barclays apparently and Natwest still sat on the fence.

Looks like I'll have to communicate via my Thai address and bank rather than German one. Using my Dad's address would be fun because I handle all his internet communication with his banks....now he can get all my bank post.

Just more shambles to look forward to come January.

I was simply commenting on the latest news reports. I can't understand the problem. I operated my UK account from Thailand, Malaysia and the US when I was residing there...what is the difference? Are the UK banks worried about their dodgy dealings being punished by the EU? Is it just more project fear?

Surely you can do better than the weak response you've provided. Let's hear something positive about Brexit....

So in a nutshell. EU subsidies good and justified. UK subsidies bad and not justified.

It is now a recognised and accepted fact that it is impossible to pierce the carapace of utter stupidity with which Brexiters encase their enfeebled intellect. They are quite simply immune to knowledge and the ability to process it, and remain as cognitively impaired as a doorstop.

However, the impending economic and social disaster looms ever nearer and we are now reaching the point of no return where even the insane Gove responsible for the implementation of a no-deal Brexit on 31.12.20 has finally acknowledged that Kent will be sealed off from the rest of Britain and will be a border zone where tailbacks and congestion will be the norm and traffic shall extend back to the M25. Shortages will become apparent within days and products taken for granted in the supermarkets since the 1980s will evaporate. Those vapid dreams of sunny uplands and prancing unicorns are now turning into nightmares and the Brexit charlatans that peddled their snake oil of lies, deceit and vacuous rhetoric have finally been silenced by the withering barrage of reality voiced by not only the international community, including the US Congress, but by the CBI, the Treasury, every former Cabinet secretary and the plaintive cries of thousands of small business owners facing ruination as the former unfettered market of 500 millions is now denied to them.

But the madness continues unabated as the worst government in British political history, led by an increasingly desperate clown haunted by the realisation his incompetence and lack of any political talent is now exposed to all, totters into a cataclysm that will wreak economic havoc for a decade to come and destroy their party.

COVID is the salt in the grievous wound that is Brexit and the pain will be excruciating indeed.

And the beauty of it all is the wondrous fact that the stupid English have done it to themselves and when they wallow in their anguish, gnashing their teeth to stumps and drowning in their tears of bitter regret, we decent and intelligent folk can sit back in our leisure and say " we told you so".

It really is quite exciting and the frisson of schadenfreude will be exquisite.

He got this from The Guardian, everyone!

    Look! Look! The Guardian!

Covid means UK needs EU deal to avoid calamity, says Lord O'Donnell | Politics | The Guardian

Apparently that renders his entire post fictitious and it's not worth actually mustering a semi-coherent response from those of you not yet jailed!

Actually, I prophesied the M20/Dover/Kent paralysis over two years ago and before that, I think you will find. Certainly, it was brought to the fore when that dickhead, Raab C Brexit, admitted that he was unaware Dover was the port through which over 3 million lorries passed every fucking year to the Continent.

Happy to see you return from the all too short break for respite care. But lo, he has returned as a prophet. A prophet of doom no less. What a pity he can’t enjoy his Pyrrhic victory from close range. Trapped in a country he hates, living among people he despises. Sounds like the UK to him, so I’m sure he will enjoy a good whine from the comfort of his Thai prison.
