If you choose to follow the ramblings of a child like Jones rather than the advice of an established elder statesman with a lifetime of experience such as Galloway (who has been proven to be right, time after time) that's your choice...

Yes, white conservative old men are the bastion of compassion, benevolence and a love of the poor. It's not like Bozo and Mogg would ever dream of selling working class Brexiteers down the river and then blame them for their own demise. These philanthropists and fellows with Ghandi like compassion are truly wonderful statesmen.

Not sure what that rambling was about, but the word "white" in there is rather weird...

That no-deal Brexit idea looks to be a bit risky...eh?

Was anyone really able to make an informed decision on leaving the EU? Were these risks explained at the time?

Oh and I love the Tory view of Farage...

“Neither Nigel Farage nor Arron Banks are fit and proper persons and they should never be allowed anywhere near government.”
Guess that ruins Farage's chances of getting in through the back door.

Did Boris really lied to the Queen? what a surprise

Johnson denies lying to Queen over Parliament suspension
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49674516

Boris Johnson has denied lying to the Queen over the advice he gave her over the five-week suspension of Parliament.

The prime minister was speaking after Scotland's highest civil court ruled on Wednesday the shutdown was unlawful.

Asked whether he had lied to the monarch about his reasons for the suspension, he replied: "Absolutely not."

He added: "The High Court in England plainly agrees with us, but the Supreme Court will have to decide."

The power to suspend - or prorogue - Parliament lies with the Queen, who conventionally acts on the advice of the prime minister.

The current five-week suspension began in the early hours of Tuesday, and MPs are not scheduled to return until 14 October.

Labour has said it is "more important than ever" that Parliament is recalled after the government published the Yellowhammer document, an assessment of a reasonable worst-case scenario in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

Meanwhile, the EU has said it is willing to revisit the proposal of a Northern Ireland-only backstop to break the Brexit deadlock, despite Mr Johnson ruling this out.

The President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, said there would be no agreement without a backstop - which aims to avoid a hard Irish border after Brexit - in some form.

The Yellowhammer document - published on Wednesday after MPs forced its release - warned of food and fuel shortages in a no-deal scenario.

But Mr Johnson insisted the UK "will be ready" to leave the EU by the current 31 October deadline without an agreement "if we have to".

"What you're looking at here is just the sensible preparations - the worst-case scenario - that you'd expect any government to do," he said.

"In reality we will certainly be ready for a no-deal Brexit if we have to do it and I stress again that's not where we intend to end up."

But shadow chancellor John McDonnell said he was "angry" that MPs would not be able to debate the planning document during the suspension.

Johnson could have said "I want to suspend Parliament because I've got the decorators in at home I need to be there to make sure they don't nick anything."

The suggestion that Boris "advises" the Queen to suspend parliament and thus that she has any choice in the matter is bollox. The Queen does what she is asked to do, any stated reasons why and the way in which this is carried out is just window dressing and because it has always been done that way.

    Bercow speaks freely

Brexit: John Bercow pledges 'creativity' to stop no-deal
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49683797

John Bercow has vowed "creativity" in Parliament if Boris Johnson ignores the law designed to stop a no-deal Brexit.

The Commons Speaker also said in a speech that the only possible Brexit was one backed by MPs.

A new law, passed before the suspension of Parliament, forces the PM to seek a delay until 31 January 2020, unless a deal or no-deal exit is approved by MPs by 19 October.

The PM has said he would rather be "dead in a ditch" than ask for a delay.

Delivering a lecture in London, Mr Bercow said: "Not obeying the law must surely be a non-starter. Period."

He said it would be a "terrible example to set to the rest of society".

"The only form of Brexit which we will have, whenever that might be, will be a Brexit that the House of Commons has explicitly endorsed," he said.

"Surely, in 2019, in modern Britain, in a parliamentary democracy, we - parliamentarians, legislators - cannot in all conscience be conducting a debate as to whether adherence to the law is or isn't required."

He called it "astonishing" that "anyone has even entertained the notion".

If the government comes close to disobeying the Act, the MP said that Parliament "would want to cut off such a possibility and do so forcefully".

"If that demands additional procedural creativity in order to come to pass, it is a racing certainty that this will happen, and that neither the limitations of the existing rule book nor the ticking of the clock will stop it doing so," he added.

    Total rubbish.

The two main reasons for Brexit are:

    1) People don't like European federalism.

    2) People are sick and tired of the UK parliament and wanted them to get a bloody nose. The fact that they are behaving as they will just further reinforce this attitude.

It is a pity that he is stepping down, I would much prefer to see him thrown out on his ear by his constituents.

The one that's outside London and the London propaganda machine.

The one outside London where the rest of England has seen their quality of life drop down year after year for decades; where jobs are harder to get since European workers come and compete for those jobs and are willing to get paid less (far cheaper to buy a house in Poland than in England...). To be clear to the the likes of Cyrille, the Polish workers are not to blame for doing an honest day's work at a rate which affords them their needs, the system is set up to make profit for the centralized owners of industry in cities such as London while the regional workers in countries with higher living standards, wages, house prices, etc, will be naturally undercut by immigrant workers (economic immigrants are rightly named).

Corbyn promising the TUC conference to deliver a second referendum, two options:

    1) Revoke & Remain.

    2) May's Deal.

What a pathetic lying kunt; starmer's strategy from day 1...

Lot of Brexiteer hot air about being able to go out an make something in the big wide world. If they can't make a success out of being able to work and live in 27 countries with minimal bureaucratic fuss, then I have my doubts global success will come easy to them.

Brexit sans deal is not feasible, despite what you think, so asking people to vote for their own embargo is a bit silly, like declaring war onto yourself

so yes, it's going to be REVOKE or DEAL, nothing else

Brexit sans deal is an impossible dream that only loons dream of,

now the question is are you one of those loons?

I suppose I just need to accept that the sodding fishing industry will replace everything and bring back the days of empire.
