The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has warned the government that neither the UK nor the EU is ready for a no-deal Brexit on 31 October.

"While the UK's preparations to date are welcome, the unprecedented nature of Brexit means some aspects cannot be mitigated," said the CBI.

It has published practical steps it says the UK, EU and firms can take.

A government spokesman said the UK has increased the pace of planning for no-deal.

The CBI had previously said leaving the EU with a deal was essential to protect the economy and jobs.

New Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made Michael Gove responsible for planning a no-deal Brexit.

Mr Gove has said the UK government is currently "working on the assumption" of a no-deal Brexit.

He said his team still aimed to come to an agreement with Brussels but, writing in the Sunday Times, he added: "No deal is now a very real prospect."

Italian banks are weak and a big problem for the Eurozone. Germany's biggest bank is technically insolvent. The ECB is more than likely going to have to reduce interest rates and start QE again due to the poor state of EU economies. The list goes on and on, the whole of the EU is full of zombie companies saddled with debt they will never be able to repay and only surviving because of cheap credit. My prediction of 5-10 years for the end of this ghastly project is just one ever nearing crisis away.

The EU and the Euro have been said to be on the slippery slope since their inception. I find it strange that those who call fear mongering regards brexit can carry on with their fear mongering about the EU.

I lived in Thailand for ten years, up to March 2019. The baht rate has been up and down, mostly down, like a whores drawers. The same applies to the value of the pound agains both the euro and USD.
Currency always fluctuates for a variety of reasons. No currency has been as stable as you suggest. Speculators and doom mongers like you, have dragged down sterling with scare stories.
