So Brexit party won in every region apart from London, this goes someway to show why the Westminster bubble is so out of touch with the rest of the country.

Agreed. The Tories and Labour need to stop pussy footing around and decide which way they want to go regards brexit. The Tory leadership will decide their fate and they need to stick to it without compromise. Labour need a similar leadership change with a definite path forward.

The results suggest the public is not content with compromise but Brexit only has a leading minority support.

Farage should have been braver and stood for election as MP if he wants to change things with direct influence. He bottled it.

And i think has had enough of self serving politicians in general. Something needs to change because large parts of the population feel disenfranchised with an agenda set in London, perhaps a move to a more proportional vote system, get rid of or seriously scale back the HOL to name but two things.

Why would he stand in Peterborough a place he has no connection with, I'm sure in the next GE if Brexit still hasn't been delivered he will stand in Thanet.

So that's nationalist parties topped the polls in 3 of the 4 biggest EU economies, UK, France and Italy and what will the EU response be? More Europe, more powers for Brussels which is the exact opposite of what people are voting for, they will never get that the populations of individual countries dont share their dream of a federalist United states of Europe. Hence it will eventually collapse.

Exactly, if Brexit is not delivered I think the two main parties will see serious challengers emerge for the next election, it could see the two party system finished.

9 out of 10 regional results now in were won by the Brexit party, only London voted otherwise, yet some folks still say that the British people want to remain - the mind boggles...

To put it another way, the Brexit party = 28 seats while the remain party (Liberals) won 15 seats, yet some folks still say that the polls show that the British electorate want to remain??? BTW, the Liberals did their UK best in Kingston-upon-Thames and Richmond-upon-Thames; rich London suburbs where the bankers live...

Looks likely in Scotland, that SNP will win with 3 seats (remember that the SNP vote was nearly 40% Leave) with the Brexit party second; maybe 1 seat, the Liberals should get 1 seat in third and maybe 1 for the Conservatives too?). Not sure about N.I.s two seats - there's not much info on that yet.

At what point will the remainers stop talking nonsense??? To say that you want to remain is one thing (that's your opinion), but to read these results as a remain victory is ignorance/propaganda.

For this to be true:

100% of Green Party, Liberals and Change UK would have had to vote Remain; we can only guess that the Liberals did, and Change UK did too (very few votes and no seats), but with the Green Party it's harder to say.

The Tory party Brexit stance is and has been clear since the election: leave. The BBC decided not to use this as it wouldn't help their graphic look the way they want it to.

The Labour party stance has been clear in manifesto however is less clear now, so we'll let the BBC have that one although we can be pretty sure that the major part of that Labour vote is Leave voters because the Labour remainers were swayed to the Liberals and some to Change UK.

Relooking at that BBC graphic, just adjusting for known Brexit voting %s from the SNP & Plaid, their conclusion is exactly the opposite of known results... But they will defend themselves by saying they used the words "party's brexit stance"; they just use every opportunity to lie and deceive.

the Social Democrats and traditional conservatives are still the dominating forces in the EU parliament

it feels like LePen and Brexit Party will have the same number of seats, about 25, so not much at the end despite their win

That's the sad reality.

I used to think that at least Corbyn offered a voice in widening the discourse space, but since the last election he has been bullied into submission by his front bench, and now will do/say anything to hold the reins at number 10 - not gonna happen... He sold himself out for nothing. If he said, fuk this lot I'm taking my crew and starting the People's Labour Party, we will Brexit and nationalize rail, get rid of student fees, etc, then he would probably get more votes than the Labour or Tory parties in the next election - not sure how that would equate to running the country though...

Labour have for the last 10 years kept re-writing their "Policy" on economics on the basis of soundbites, they cannot be taken seriously alongside the phrase "Managing an economy".

Corbyn is a 70's shop floor throwback who secretly despises everything the UK stands for and would see us cozying up to Putin and Terrorists, dismantling our Nuclear deterrent, laying waste to our already depleted Armed Services whilst gleefully dragging veterans through courts, all against a backdrop of wholesale re=nationalisation and "right on" economics that would have our National debt double in 5 years and interest payments on it climb to over £100Bn annually.
