Lots of successful entrepreneurs on here sharing their advice, so if they can do it so can you.

A couple of friends moved on from Thailand and decided to relocate to Cambodia. One is now managing a bar while the other works in an international school, both seem happy and find the visa situation to be better than Thailand. Bar dude had to TEFL in Thailand and hated it- much happier in his new job.

While I greatly enjoyed Thailand it can't be expected that everyone will feel exactly the same way. I'm seriously considering relocating back over the border.

Age will definitely be a major factor since some must work while others are pensioned and/ or living off savings.

no matter how you want to put it, you are living with a lower civilization,

    and only as a guest,

    nothing else,

Think of Thailand as a trip to West World,

I don't have a problem living in the west,

and to be surrounded by real people, with real brains, is quite a refreshing change

Thais are dummies, nothing else, love them though and hope they will never change their ways

Congratulations bright and shining object. You have done exactly that which you despise in others. Ignored the factual content and offered no rebuttal of my points, (because there is none) and resorted to (lame) insults.
I'm delighted that you disagree with my reasoning. It means my logic is sound. I would be seriously worried if you did agree with anything I post. You are the very antithesis of knowledge and understanding.

I like life in PI. Its quiet, peaceful and calm, especially here in the mountains. Its a different ballgame altogether than living in a big city. It is so different than the lively noisy upbeat busy and mostly petty BKK life that I used to enjoy.

    Change is good.

Does no one who is thinking about leaving Thailand ever consider Southern Europe as opposed to another SE Asian country? Still great bargains to be had in terms of property both coastal and inland in Spain, Portugal and Greece.

Thanks for the offer LuLu, but I do not think Ms. LuLu would fancy a threesome.

Unlike you Sabang has the means to live where he wants. Surprised a person in your situation hasn't considered Cambodia though as every penny matters eh....

Keep ploughing that tedious, misinformed furrow, buribuffalo.

Your contention that someone who can afford to live anywhere is considering living in Cambodia is, of course, manifestly absurd...you fucking plank.

You're a potless career TEFLer, a boring tedious one to boot. There for your options are extremely limited especially in your advanced years.

You're clearly incapable of seeing any irony in how many times you've posted that, and how pretty much every post you make is about possessions.

Apart from the photos of tinned meat and celery...

I think Smeg moved to Portugal a few years ago. Or so he was planning.

We had 2 villas in Spain until a new EU overseas property tax was introduced around 2005 that absolutely foked us right royally.

Anyway, I'd have thought you'd be building the 'couch potato with a criminal record' empire by having kids, buribuffalo.

Are you shooting blanks or something?

It can't. I've looked at Portugal & Malta though. Thing is, I'll be quite portable- I will no longer put serious money into any tinpot Asian (or European) country. So of it disappoints, &/or goes tits up like Thailand, hasta la vista baby. Like I said, the only thing that is really keeping me here is a fairly expensive villa down south- and financially speaking, that was the worst mistake I have ever made. One learns from experience.

One kid is plenty thanks, never been a fan of them and luckily the misses didn't more either. I suppose being a potless career TEFLer you've done the right thing and not had any to save the state from having to provide for them.
