Yes, but every one of those fuckers knows they're getting a polonium cuppa if they criticise the dictator-in-chief.

^^WTF??? You only read the first question, oh trusted bearer of news. From your own link, straight from the horses mouth, the second question asked to Putin.
Editor-in-chief of the Kommersant newspaper Sergei Yakovlev: Mr President, I would like to continue with the topic of the election.
Alexei Navalny was not allowed to participate in the election. We immediately heard criticism from Washington and a number of European capitals. I would like to know what you think about this and how you see the situation?
Vladimir Putin: First, I would like to say that no one likes when others interfere with their internal political affairs. Our American friends particularly do not like it. We can see their reaction even to unreliable information on our interference, we can see how sharp the reaction has been, aggressive even, I would say. The experience of American election campaigns shows that they hardly allow anyone in.
The situation with our media which were promptly labelled foreign agents and their performance impeded, in a pretty aggressive and spiteful way, I would say this speaks exactly to how they react if someone influences the domestic political situation somehow, especially during the pre-election period.
The fact that they do that themselves, at least make these attempts, is regarded by them as normal, which is absolutely wrong in my view. And if they poke their nose in everything, they should be ready to respond to certain challenges which they actually encourage themselves.
I would ask you not to take this as if we are interfering with something. We are not going to interfere. I am just stating the fact that nobody likes it when someone interferes with their business yet they are happy to intrude into others’ affairs. This is the first thing that comes to my mind regarding some reactions by the US Congress followed by the Department of State on the fact that someone was not allowed. This is the first instance.
The second instance. The character you mentioned is not the only one who was banned. For some reason others were not announced. This seems to reveal the US administration and other nations’ preferences regarding who they would like to promote in Russia’s politics and who they would like to see among the country’s leadership, if not the leader. And apparently, these are the people they count on, they rely on. And in this case, they gave themselves away, they would have done better if they had kept silent.
The key is not who was allowed to run and who was not, because this is standard practice. The key is to understand and to follow the spirit of the law for us inside the country. To understand that any violation of the law, no matter who it is committed by, is intolerable. And that’s it. Including during the election campaign.
Still, I don’t understand how this somehow shows Putin doesn’t use trumped up charges to get rid of his political rivals.
Another legal decision, this time by the Russian Constitutional Court. Where can he turn to now?

what? Over some billy no mate Ukrainian boy who has about as much hope of threatening Putin in an election as you do, Uncle Harry? You western media dribblers might believe this state department mock up, but most people don't.
Putin is not a fool like you or your favourite family The CLintons are though. Why would he bother. Here are his choices;
Wait until an election, win by 85% to this other retards 0.004% OR try to take him down with the worlds media watching on, and the USA desperately trying to provoke civil unrest.
So you and the clintons might go the latter, but he's not as green as you are cabbage looking Uncle Harry.
Ahh the last card of the fool heh? That's all you got? You know that wht I have written is true but CNN says HATE HATE HATE russia so you duly play along.
Here.
Navalny tells the European Court of Human Rights that his arrests at demonstrations were politically motivated
Alexey Navalny addressed the European Court of Human Rights on Wednesday, arguing that his detentions by Russian police at rallies between 2012 and 2014 were politically motivated.
The ECHR has already ruled once on these detentions, a year ago awarding Navalny €63,000 ($78,000) in compensation for violations of his personal freedom and security and his right to free assembly. Last February, however, the ECHR did not consider allegations that Russian police had persecuted Navalny politically.
The opposition politician told the court that Russian officials only issue demonstration permits in remote areas. “This Sunday, they’ve literally told us to protest in the woods, in Sokolniki Park,” he said.
On January 28, Navalny plans to stage nationwide demonstrations to promote a voters’ boycott against Russia’s March presidential election. Navalny spent a year campaigning vigorously to compete in the election, but federal officials disqualified him, citing a controversial felony conviction.
In Moscow, Navalny’s supporters want to hold their January 28 rally at Tverskaya Street, in the center of the city, though Moscow officials have refused to issue a demonstration permit at that location.

It's pretty obvious that Navalny is a frontman/stooge for "western" interests.
This will I'm sure be deemed a "quack site" or somesuch, but whatever...
quote from:As it happens I suspect that creating a pretext for a campaign to boycott the election was the true purpose of Navalny's Presidential bid all along.
I also suspect that it was the true reason why the Western media and Western governments have been so noisily backing his bogus Presidential bid: not because they see Navalny as a serious challenger to Putin but because they want to use Navalny's inevitable exclusion from the election as a pretext to cast doubt on its legitimacy and on the legitimacy of Putin's re-election when (as everyone expects) it happens.
Whilst that tactic will no doubt work with some people in the West (though I question how many people really care about an election in Russia), I doubt it will impress many people in Russia itself, where most people have long since become wise to this sort of thing.
However it shows yet again that whilst no proof of Russian meddling in any Western elections has ever come to light, Western meddling in Russian elections is not just unashamed and continuous, but happens openly in full light of day.
Alexey Navalny's phoney bid for the Russian Presidency and the US media's role in it
As everybody knows only the Russians are hugely meddling in affairs of other countries, aren't they?
There are only some minor exceptions when other kind states want to help some oppressed countries to manage their administrative - it's for a good purpose, e.g.:

Are you implying the Russians did not meddle in the US elections? Or that is OK they did because Joe Biden says he got someone fired in the Ukraine? Which ain’t Russia, anyways.

^One year old thread? and still no evidence? After XM$ spent? After millions of public daily TV (MSM) entertainment?
Why? Pushing this story is perfect for them. They will move onto sanctions, a no fly zone and regime change in most countries using this sort of dragged out manufactured drama. Think it is not working? Well it's got you and harry hooked and swallowing it down as it will have all the other flag wavers.
Actually I read it at SOTT and copied my quote from there. But then also copied the link at the top of the SOTT page...which turned out to be "russiafeed . com"
The bolded emphasis in the quote I used was from SOTT.

Yeah, Navalny is so insignificant.
Makes you wonder why they *keep* the campaign of harrassment going eh?
Probably be a few more arrests as well. Can't have people saying they don't want Vlad to continue robbing the country blind now, can we?
No threat there then.
Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, warned that unsanctioned rallies would lead to “certain consequences”.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-putin-ralliesRussian police forced their way into the Moscow office of opposition leader Alexei Navalny on Sunday and started questioning people, images broadcast online by his supporters showed.
The move came as hundreds of supporters of Navalny began a nationwide day of protests against the authorities, calling on voters to boycott what they say is a rigged presidential election scheduled for 18 March. Navalny had urged nationwide unsanctioned rallies to protest against “pseudo-elections”.
Roman Rubanov, a Navalny supporter, wrote on social media that the police said they were looking into reports that there was a bomb in the office, something he said came as a surprise to him.
^Why the Russians don't let themselves helped by some generous friends from outside, like was helped to Ukraine? (please no names here...)
