Impeachment is a public disgrace whether or not a President is removed from office. Nixon resigned to avoid it.

i disagree.
there's a very real risk of independents seeing impeachment as an overreach by house dems......and everyone knows it won't get any traction in the senate....so, it will be portrayed by the GOP as a waste of time and money.
he's only president because of ~80,000 total votes in MI, WI and PA. dems can't take the chance of turning these people off....they need to be compelled to go to the polls in 2020.
vote him out in 2020 and then let him face the myriad indictments coming his way.
added...
that's not to say that they shouldn't keep up the current investigations and subpoena everyone....including his family.

erik prince definitely needs to be indicted for lying to congress.
If the situation was reversed, Republicans would not hesitate to impeach. Section II of the Mueller report is a damning summary of 10 instances of obstruction of justice. This requires strong action not worrying about the tender sensibilities of 'independents'. Republicans win because they do not shy away from a fight. Seemingly a lesson lost on the Democratic leadership. If Democrats let this pass and spend their time in the next election blathering about transgender bathrooms and slavery reparations they will lose big time.

I can't say I'd disagree here with Elizabeth Warren.
no doubt.
and that's what they did in '98 and clinton's popularity soared because he was perceived as being a victim of a partisan attack.
in this day and age, securing the votes of independents is how elections are won.
dems and progressives are going to come out to the polls no matter what....they need the independents to make sure trump is ousted and possibly take back the senate.
again, i agree....and dems in general need to toughen up and fight on their level....but more importantly, the dems need to choose their battles...and i don't think this is a good one.
but i would strongly support them if they:
round up everyone who lied to congress and then put them in jail.
subpoena everyone involved the corrupt inauguration
pull everyone remotely connected to trump-world in to give testimony in an open session of congress.
no doubt those issues are losers for 2020....but IMO, so is impeachment.
i would guess that the GOP and trump campaign are eagerly waiting for the dems to start impeachment hearings because they think they can capitalize on it.
Warren is appealing to the same left wing butthurt snowflakes as baldy orange cunto does to his trumpanzees.
A schoolgirl mistake that would drive an even bigger wedge between right and left.
But Clinton's "crimes" stemmed from a bit of slap and tickle. Trump's "grab 'em by the Pussy" did him no harm, either. A man being a "man".
Trump's crimes however are those of a scoundrel abusing the office and with hints of unpatriotic behaviour.
Not at all. What she wrote in that series of tweets was all correct and aimed at the majority that can think for themselves. Trump on the other hand tweets lies and self-promotion to an audience he's knowingly playing and absolutely knows are dumb.

Trump's popularity is at 37% after the release of the Mueller report. He is hated by the vast majority of Americans. His cult is strong but not strong enough to win his re-election. Given his dishonesty, history of lies and corruption it is difficult for me to believe that somehow a majority of voters will suddenly develop amnesia about his behavior and tag Democrats with over reach. You listen to the pundits and talking heads too much.
The libtards on here are even stupider and more delusional than I remember them to be. I will be back November 2020 to laugh you morons again.

I keep coming back to censure by the House as a alternative to impeachment. It would probably qualify as an exception to rules about grand jury secrecy and provide more focused exposure rather than the multiple committees pursuing more narrow angles. With McConnell in control of the Senate floor probably no Senate action unless there is a legislative maneuver to bring it to a vote. Avoids the cries of a coup is taking place to subvert the voters ( in the electoral college).
preaching to twits ?
arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/04/twitter-shuts-down-network-of-5000-possibly-saudi-pro-trump-bots/Twitter has suspended over 5,000 accounts tied to a network amplifying a message denouncing the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller as a "RussiaGate hoax." According to a researcher, the accounts—most of which had only posted three or four times in the past—were connected to other accounts previously used to post pro-Saudi messages.
In response to an inquiry by Ars, a Twitter spokeswoman said, "We suspended a network of accounts and others associated with it for engaging in platform manipulation—a violation of the Twitter Rules." An investigation into the network is still ongoing, the spokeswoman said, but no determination has yet been made about who was behind the campaign.
"In cases such as this, attribution is difficult," the spokeswoman noted. "If we do have reasonable evidence to support state-backed activity, we will disclose the accounts as part of our information operations archive." (This archive is the data repository used to reveal operations of networks previously tied to election manipulation and other state-backed information operations.)
and the drumpf squeals about lost fans
Twitter CEO Gently Tells Trump: Your ?Lost? Followers Are Bots and Spam AccountsOn Tuesday, President Trump hosted Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in the Oval Office for a closed-door meeting, during which the leader of the free world spent an inordinate amount of time complaining about lost Twitter followers, according to a source familiar with the conversation.
The Twitter chief, for his part, tried to reassure the president that the company’s staff merely wants his follower count to be as bot-free as possible.
This is what the most powerful person in the world was preoccupied with Tuesday.
A large percentage of the meeting, which included senior White House officials such as Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino, was spent addressing the subject of @realDonaldTrump’s follower count. The president stated his belief that he had lost some of his roughly 59 million followers in anti-Trump, anti-conservative Twitter purges, according to a source familiar with the meeting.
Dorsey, according to this knowledgeable source, had to explain to the president that like other Twitter users, @realDonaldTrump periodically loses followers when the site deletes fake or bot accounts. Dorsey even said he himself had lost followers as a result of Twitter’s efforts to delete fake accounts.
