    Trump's Ethical Violations and Corruption

A thread dedicated to the many upcoming ethical scandals of the trump administration.

considering his shady cabinet members, the poor vetting process they went through, and the avarice of trump family itself, this is going to be an active thread.

    our first installment:

A lobbying firm working for Saudi Arabia paid for a room at Donald Trump’s Washington hotel after Inauguration Day, marking the first publicly known payment on behalf of a foreign government to a Trump property since he became president.
OK even on the surface, this seems pretty dodgy, but just to be fair, what were the saudis up to in DC?

Qorvis MSLGroup, a communications firm that lobbies for the Saudis, has been organizing veterans and other activists to come to Washington to urge Congress to repeal the law letting 9/11 victims’ families sue the kingdom.

hold on....let me see if i've got this straight.....the president of the united states just directly profited from the saudi government which was lobbying to overturn a law giving 9/11 victims the right to sue.... the saudi government?

c'mon. this has to be some sort of dark and twisted joke, right?

    sadly, no.

and for those of you who are unaware:

The Emoluments Clause of the Constitution prohibits U.S. officials from receiving payments from foreign governments.

you know it was kind of strange to see his motorcade go past the Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue on the day of his inauguration,

    completely surreal,

incidentally the average price of a room in DC for the week of inauguration was about $2,000 !!!

    a record !!!

Kellyanne Conway: "Go buy Ivanka's stuff!" Obviously flunked Ethics 101.

Relatively minor in the grand scheme of current and upcoming disasters, but indicative of the low quality of those chosen to inhabit his inner circle.

No tax returns, and has yet to divest of any of his holdings. Using US taxpayer funds for trips that involve his private business. IE son in law jets off to Uruguay for Trump business, includes a short meeting with the government and bills it to us. Not the US, us.

I rather like the president attempting to shame a company because they don't want to do business with his daughter.

Spicer claimed the presidents, such that he is, said it was done because it was clearly an attack on Ivanka....which is of course a lie.

It was an attack on Ivanka's business dealings. Can the President shame companies that don't want to work with his family and his family's businesses?

    Won't have enough disk space

If the Hillary was elected, there would not be enough disk space on this server to list her ethical and lawless violations. The CGI alone would implicate scores in the DC swamp alone.

Get over it, she LOST and Trump is the new President.

Even lying is an ethical violation- a fact that seems to be conveniently overlooked by liars & rubes alike in the 'post-facts' era. Good article (and Youtube) from Matt Taibbi -

If you connect with America's anger and paranoia, you can steamroll our most sacred institutions without ever having to tell the truth

He is indeed even though some of his promises were/are illegal as he is now beginning to realize.

Jesus Himself promised, "At that time the sign of the Trump will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Trump coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory"

In recent candid photos, Kellyanne has looked really bad - like a raccoon on crack. She won't be around long.

    drain the swamp, eh?
Trump’s Watered-Down Ethics Rules Let a Lobbyist Help Run an Agency He Lobbied
President Trump’s executive order on ethics also cites a section of the law that doesn’t exist.

Geoff Burr spent much of the last decade as the chief lobbyist for a powerful construction industry trade group. Burr sought to influence a host of regulations of the Department of Labor, opposing wage standards for federal construction contracts and working against an effort to limit workers’ exposure to dangerous silica dust.

In the Obama administration, someone like Burr would have been barred by ethics rules from taking a job at an agency that he had lobbied.

In the Trump administration, Burr now has a top job at the Labor Department.

Burr is the first publicly known example of a former lobbyist who was able to take a job in the government as a result of President Donald Trump’s watering down of ethics rules in place during the Obama administration.

As a candidate, Trump regularly railed against lobbyists and led crowds in chants of “Drain the swamp!” But as president, Trump last month signed an executive order that weakened significant aspects of the Obama ethics policy, including scrapping a ban on lobbyists joining agencies they had recently lobbied.

Ethics experts say Burr’s hiring is a troubling example of how the new administration has greased the revolving door.

“A lobbyist like Burr may de-register on Monday and enter the Trump Administration on Tuesday,” said Craig Holman of the watchdog group Public Citizen. “The very same agency Burr has been lobbying as a hired gun is now Burr’s to help run. This is a grave problem for the public because the agency may well represent the special interest rather than the public interest.”
