Having lived in Brixton I can confirm that the people living there are happy to mix with all. Entertainment, food, culture from all the tibes are enjoyed with gusto. British, Europeans, Asians, Africans and those from North and South America.

Biggest melting pot I've personally come across in the UK is Southall in London based myself there for about 2 months earlier this year due to work. Stayed in a pub which was Sikh owned and me and my mate were the only 2 white guys in there, had a great time and Sikhs are total pissheads who made us feel most welcome. But back on point in Southall the Sikhs hate the Muslims, the Muslims hate the Sikhs and they both hate the Somalians, whole place is a tinder pot just waiting to go off. Streets and areas are all basically one denomination they don't mix and hate each other with a passion I hadn't witnessed before in this country, must be my sheltered life!!!!!

As you say, other ethnic groups tend to cluster also, it's not an uniquely Muslim tendency, although they will ghetoise (or cluster) more rapidly, opening Muslim schools, mosques and halal food shops within walking distance of often overcrowded Muslim neighbourhoods where they live often 10-15 per house designed for 6.

You have absolutely no idea what you are fecking talking about. If you look at a map of Sparkhill, Birmingham (GIYF), you will soon find Showell Green lane- which leads into Stratford road at one end, and Moseley at the other. The stratford Road end became the hangout of junkie hookers- this at a time when the Islamic community was both moving in and already established- and there were (and still are) several Indian restaurants down there (good n cheap too, if you're down that way). So they were sharing their pavements with junkie's, prossie's, crime, and harassment reports. Not good for business, not good for the local community. If you ran a restaurant, and had a family- would you want that sort of lowlife on your doorstep? So they ran them out, peaceably, via harassment and shaming- as opposed to violence. It was not only the local Muslim community that was grateful. My friends house is on a lane off Showell Green lane incidentally. It had nothing to do with the Police, whatsoever- in fact the lib'rul lefties were up in arms that this 'vigilante' action could be put in place and effected by a local community. And for all I know, some of the lowlife junkie hookers may well have been Muslim- so what?
