To think, it really actually wasn't all that long ago that if you'd said to someone the POTUS was going to throw a tantrum over his lies being fact-checked -- not stopped from telling them or held accountable, just being fact-checked -- and was whining about 'freedom of speech' whilst at the same time threatening social media companies with an executive order like some tinpot dictator they might have thought you mad or at a minimum given to flights of fancy.

    But here we are:

The good thing about Executive Orders is that they can be challenged in the courts.

I doubt even a Republican SCOTUS would tinker with the First Amendment.

Twitter's lawyers are probably pissing themselves at his stupidity.

I really hope he does it, the PACs will have a fucking field day.

    Zuckerberg.... what a c u n t.

"I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn't be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online," the Facebook CEO told Fox News. "Private companies probably shouldn't be, especially these platform companies, shouldn't be in the position of doing that."

You do realize this is just another Trump brain shart, right?
    Twitter isn't actually censoring him.

twitter is a private company and can censor, ban, edit or put a warning sticker on anyone it likes. just ask alex jones.
    don't like it?
go to another website or social media platform.
claims of this being a violation of 1st amendment rights are breathtakingly ignorant.

Exactly. But right-wing snowflakes are always screaming about 'Freedom of Speech!' with no understanding of what it actually is but then they scream about being victims and unfairly oppressed the moment they don't get absolutely everything 100% their way.

And in context it's just a link at the bottom of his rants / lies it's not censorship or even remotely effective it stopping the spread of dis/mis-information among his supporters who are too dumb to fact-check and/or simply don't care that he lies.

Jack Dorsey shouldn't pick a fight with a crazy pitbull like Trump,

look at what happened to that NFL star after he kneel in that stadium, trying to pick a noble fight and he lost big

the problem is who get to decide objectively what is "fake news", should it be a private company? constitutional rights in the US about free speech no matter how stupid or racist is quite strong

not sure Twitter want to pick up that noble fight, above all with their current financial position, and Jack Dorsey fragile and controversial relationships with his current VC entourage

Nobody has to decide. Facts are objective.

They aren't negotiable on the feelz of some Trumptards and there's no such thing as 'alternative facts'.

Twitter flags Trump tweet on Minneapolis for ‘glorifying violence’

Twitter has slapped a “public interest notice” on a tweet from President Donald Trump, saying it violated its rules regarding the glorifying of violence.

“We’ve taken action in the interest of preventing others from being inspired to commit violent acts, but have kept the Tweet on Twitter because it is important that the public still be able to see the Tweet given its relevance to ongoing matters of public importance,” the company said Friday morning.

now they are getting ridiculous, I suspect Twitter is desperate for attention and press coverage

last year, big investors wanted to pull the plug on Twitter as it didn't show the same growth rates as other social media platform like Instagram

any press coverage is buying them time, but it's still a risky proposition to poke a big bad bear like Trump

Well the charge always is that 'reality' TV is scripted I suppose... And that shit definitely just wrote itself.

Also Trump's no bear he's a whiny bish and professional victim. A weak man.

i am an obsessed loony snowflake living in a state of permanent outrage, and looking for any excuse to be offended by the actions of the president of a country on the other side of the world, even though i have left one of the most democratic countries on the planet and chosen to live in a country known for its corruption, its state sanctioned human trafficking and that shows little regard for human rights, freedom of expression and the liberty of its minorities. i spend my days searching for and posting predictable memes that reinforce my schoolboy prejudices and snowflake mentality

    you certainly got that right.
