I am not sure I follow you here. Trump has already been impeached. That part is over and done with, that happened in the house. The stage we are in now is the trial in the Senate that will determine if Drumpf will be convicted of the charges put forward during his impeachment. The only way that Pence can assume the presidency is if Drumpf is found guilty by the Senate and that will require a two thirds majority something that is unlikely to happen regardless of the evidence put forward. The GOP is corrupt and completely broken at this point. It has become the cult of Drumpf.

if placed under sodium pentothol, i'd make a small wager that the majority of GOP senators despise trump and know that he's a long term cancer that will destroy the party in the medium term. but these self-serving cowards only care about preserving their own seats and control of the senate.
