Most brands supervise production and companies that do not conform to workplace regulations are dropped as suppliers. The idea that everything that is produced outside the US is in a sweatshop is ludicrous.

Upscale men's clothing, footwear, and neckwear are not made in sweatshops. $5 tee shirts from Wal Mart are made in sweat shops.

I didn't say his stuff was upscale. I made a point about the lack of manufacturing for clothing and footwear in the US. 98% of clothing and footwear sold in the US is made abroad. I stated that the US no longer has significant manufacturing capability. Which is a fact. Of course you have to play the obstinate know-it-all on every subject which is what you do.

This again? It sounds like Humbert has some firsthand knowledge of the topic he's attempting to impart. How does that make him a "Trumpanzee"? Fuck, this stuff just drives me absolutely batty. One little comment that could be construed as anything other than towing some dumb imaginary line and the teeth come a flashin'

Of course it doesn't have significant manufacturing capability; everyone moved it for cheap labour!

So now we've gone from no manufacturing to "no significant" manufacturing.

You can get bespoke shit all over America.

Orange cunto could have opened a factory. But he's a greedy fucker with an audience of fuckwits.

    big mouth strikes again...

President Trump wants to invoke a national security provision to stop the "dumping" of cheap steel into America, but trade lawyers believe Trump's public statements —and dubious legal reasoning — could expose the administration to significant legal problems.

The White House's rhetoric: The administration in April identified dumping as the impetus for Trump "standing up" for the steel and aluminum industries.

Trump last week on Air Force One:"They're dumping steel and destroying our steel industry, they've been doing it for decades, and I'm stopping it."

Why it matters: International trade experts, including NYU Law professor Robert Howse, told Axios that Trump made a big mistake by identifying "dumping" as his basis for imposing retaliatory tariffs on national security grounds. There are already laws on the books to remedy dumping, and if Trump invokes the national security provision to impose new tariffs, other nations will immediately challenge him because they're operating under a World Trade Organization agreement that has no national security exceptions.

If this self-sabotaging scenario sounds familiar, that's because lawyers fighting Trump's travel ban used his bombastic tweets and public statements as evidence he was motivated by a desire to ban Muslims from America rather than his stated mission of keeping out terrorists.

Think the previous guy did the same thing about tires.
China selling tires under cost to put US manufactures out of the market, 20 to 100 percent import tax was applied.

Did not see the WTO jumping up and down, nor US law makers screaming about free trade.

dinner for G20 leaders at a summit earlier this month in Germany, a White House official has confirmed.

    Key points:
    • Political analyst says meeting lasted about an hour
    • Questions raised over lack of US translator at meeting
    • Donald Trump expected to nominate Jon Huntsman as Russia ambassador
The two leaders held a formal two-hour bilateral meeting on July 7 in which Mr Trump later said Mr Putin denied allegations
that he directed efforts to meddle in the 2016 US presidential election.

The White House official did not say how long the second meeting took place or what was discussed.

The second conversation between Mr Trump and Mr Putin took place during a dinner for the Group of 20 heads of state
and their spouses in Hamburg, said Ian Bremmer, the president of political risk consultancy Eurasia Group, who was first to
report the meeting in a note to clients.

Television coverage of the dinner showed that first lady Melania Trump was seated next to Mr Putin.
Mr Bremmer said Mr Trump got up from his seat halfway through dinner and spent about an hour talking "privately and animatedly" with
Mr Putin, "joined only by Putin's own translator".

The lack of a US translator raised eyebrows among other leaders at the dinner, said Mr Bremmer, who called it a "breach of national security protocol".
Mr Trump is under intense scrutiny by Congress and a special counsel investigating Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election,
and probing whether Mr Trump's campaign had ties to the activity.

Mr Trump has denied collusion between his campaign and Moscow.
you need to stick this in the trump-russia ties delusions thread; that's where the loonies go to drool over their fantasies of being dominated by putin

Ninety-four percent or $3.6 million worth of the flags imported into the U.S. last year came from China, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

If POTUS wants to have a 'Made in USA' day he might oughta think about actually supporting products and manufacturers that Make things In America...so far he's done nothing to indicate he cares one way or another.
yes that is what he is doing by reducing regs (getting out of the climate change treaty was a great move) and he wants to do tax reform pand renegotiate trade agreements and rebuild infrastructure. both mexico and canada have agreed to renegotiate nafta.

it takes time to fix a mess decades in the making, in the meantime they are stuck with healthcare, either they sort that out or ditch it and work on tax reform or infrastructure, or the voters will tell them what they think in 2018.

and btw the 1000 carier jobs agreed are staying in the usa, the jobs being moved or lost are part of a previous decision not covered by the negotiation with carrier.

instead of joining in with the deadheads shreiking about nothing why not judge him on his achievements, he is only 6 months in working on the most difficult aspect of policy.

It has been a smooth transition from pre-and-just-post election 'Only Trump Can Fix It!', 'He's A Man of Action!' to six months in and '[Insert Excuse De Jour Here]' for Trumptards.

Presumably, eventually, even the most committed of them will start to notice that no matter how much you rub it that turd is just not gonna start gleaming.
