David Letterman has a lot of history with Donald Trump. Some great comments here.

All the stupid birther/Muslim nonsense and hate for the last eight years has absolutely poisoned any sense of reason on all sides. The two sides are now taking turns mirroring each other.
Reason and common sense are on vacation for all involved, and don't appear set to return anytime soon
you're referring to the isle of Manhattan, of course, or perhaps Hawaii?...Originally Posted by redhaze

* disparaging and undermining institutions that are integral to our democracy
* cabinet positions to people who are openly hostile the agencies they now head--and others who have no discernable history in the field
* the utter disconnect from truth and reality--to the point where it is commonplace and almost ignored
* the connections to an adversarial foreign power that influenced our election
I agree on the administration, I wasn't trying to equate this admin to Obama admin. The response to this admin, however, has often been mindless, shrill, and overblown. Bush's lies were just as frequent and far more consequential (so far), and it took his admin lying to kill hundreds of thousands of people before things got this intense.
It's like when people say "it's the lie that matters, whether he did anything wrong is irrelevant", I can't help but wonder their thoughts on Bill Clinton's knob getting polished. The content of the lie well does fucking matter.
The response to this admin. has everything to do with who Trump is, with policy taking a distant backseat. He's repulsive, and the responses are accordingly visceral and knee-jerk

Of course the seriousness of the lie matters but in matters of sworn testimony even the most innocuous of lies can amount to perjury if there is willful intent to conceal information. A lot of people did not think the Watergate burglers did anything wrong but when the Nixon administration tried to conceal their involvement another series of crimes were committed.Originally Posted by redhaze

yep and one has to wonder if secretly bannon doesn't mind the mainstream media being obsessed with the russia story,Originally Posted by redhaze

You're welcome. But fcuking up winning is something even harder to handle it seems.Originally Posted by longway

This is another example of how you really are clueless about what is going on. The repeal of the ACA and the piece of trash bill they are trying to replace it with is all over the news. Constituents from all over the country have been filling Republican senators and reps town hall meetings outraged at the fact that they could be losing their health insurance.Originally Posted by longway
The Russian issue is in no way distracting from this. As usual you are quite clueless.
