White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders leaving job
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the job at the end of June, US President Donald Trump says.
Key points:
- Ms Sanders has been one of Donald Trump's closest aides
- Speculation has turned to whether she would run for governor of Arkansas
- The 36-year-old mother of three said she was leaving her White House role to spend time with family
"She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas — she would be fantastic," Mr Trump said on Twitter announcing her departure.
He has not named a replacement for his longtime ally, who had been at the White House for three-and-a-half years.

She knows when to leave a sinking ship
...she must be the slowest rat on board then...
...doubtful: as governor of Arkansas, her father demonstrated the same attributes...in trade for his support, tRump elevated the inexperienced and generally incompetent daughter from Arkansas backwater to national status...like most of tRump's appointees, she should never have been in such an important position...
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
Indeed. Her capacity for dishonesty and hypocrisy is apparently limitless."She is a very special person with extraordinary talents
I read, somewhere, that she hasn't done a podium since April and was mentioned in the Muller Report as Lying and not presenting the facts on #45's behalf.
Subsequently she lost the trust of the WH Press Gallery ... not that any representative of #45 ever had/has

Melania Trump's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham to be new White House press secretary
Stephanie Grisham will begin her duties on a trip to Asia with US President Donald Trump
Melania Trump has announced that Stephanie Grisham, her longtime spokeswoman and confidante, will succeed Sarah Sanders as White House press secretary.
Ms Grisham has been with US President Donald Trump team since he launched his presidential bid in 2015 and is one of the few campaign officials still at the White House.
"Stephanie has been with me from the beginning, as most of you know," Mr Trump told reporters during an unrelated White House event.
"And then over the last couple years she's worked for the first lady, done a fantastic job. The first lady loves her, thinks she's been, you know, just incredible. She's very talented."
In addition to becoming White House press secretary, Ms Grisham will also take on the job of White House communications director, a strategic and forward-looking role that has been vacant since March, when former Fox News Channel executive Bill Shine departed.
Ms Grisham has a busy start lined up and will accompany Mr Trump to the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea, starting on Wednesday, a trip that includes the president's meetings with the leaders of China and Russia.
