Reality Check: Did President Bush Keep Promises From 2006 State of the Union Address? - ABC News

Meanwhile the same basic policies(especially foreign and war related policies) continue on thru administration after administration with only cosmetic differences. Perceptions of different administrations are what change...who molds and shapes those perceptions?

If you boil it down, it's a "good cop bad cop" routine that's been working here in the US for ages. I'm pretty sure the same MO is used elsewhere. So for here in the US in recent past, Bush Jr. bad cop, Obama good cop, Trump bad cop...During those three admins. did anything really change regarding Iraq, Afghanistan, ME in general, our aggressive militarism, foreign policies?

What if Trump's Asst Sec. of State said "fuck the EU," you think the news coverage might be a bit different than when Obama's Nuland said it?

Even when Bush faced a Democrat congress, he still got stuff done, because there was negotiation.

The Republicans really started the blocking shit when a black man won the Whitehouse, and I fear it will be the way forward from now on.

Even when there was a Bipartisan Immigration Bill that Obama said he would sign, Speaker Boehner refused to put it to a vote, and unfortunately the system is such that one person can put the kibosh on legislation that way.

The republicans are like the fat kid with the football who says if he can't be captain he's taking the ball home.

Meanwhile I see your link for 2,500 jobs added and raise you the 9,400 jobs Walmart just fucked off with their tax cut.

Walmart is closing 63 Sam's Club stores across the US, the company told Business Insider on Thursday afternoon, after reports of abrupt store closings began to emerge.
The closings will impact about 9,400 employees, a Walmart official said.
In some cases, employees were not told their store had closed before showing up to work on Thursday. Those employees learned their store would be closing when they found the store's doors locked and a notice announcing the closing, Sam's Club workers told Business Insider. At some stores, employees were turned away by police officers.
    So Much Winning!

This biggly milestone in the Trump presidency managed to pass without much comment.

Trump passed the 2,000 lies mark:

With just 10 days before he finishes his first year as president, Trump has made 2,001 false or misleading claims in 355 days, according to our database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president. That’s an average of more than 5.6 claims a day.

Doesn't exactly prove your point by linking to a bestiality case that happened in Zimbabwe!

I'll be brief, because this is a drumpf thread:-

Since independence, Botswana has had one of the fastest growth rates in per capita income in the world.[36] Botswana has transformed itself from one of the poorest countries in the world to a middle-income country. Although Botswana was resource-abundant, a good institutional framework allowed the country to reinvest resource-income in order to generate stable future income.[37] By one estimate, it has the fourth highest gross national income at purchasing power parity in Africa, giving it a standard of living around that of Mexico.

Seems far from a shithole to me- about the only thing I can find to support your allegation is that it has an appallingly high HIV rate. Is this a black thang?

    More MAGA......

Nearly all members of National Park Service advisory panel resign in frustration

More than three-quarters of the members of a federally chartered board advising the National Park Service have quit out of frustration that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke had refused to meet with them or convene a single meeting last year.

The resignation of 10 out of 12 National Park System Advisory Board members leaves the federal government without a functioning body to designate national historic or natural landmarks. It also underscores the extent to which federal advisory bodies have become marginalized under the Trump administration. In May 2017, Zinke suspended all outside committees while his staff reviewed their composition and work.

Tillerson: U.S. 'will maintain a military presence in Syria'

PALO ALTO — Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday indicated that America will maintain an indefinite military presence in Syria to fight terrorist groups, stand up to Iran’s growing influence and pave the way for an end to the regime of Syrian leader Bashar Assad.

Tillerson’s remarks were the clearest enunciation yet by a Trump administration official of U.S. plans in Syria. They were especially striking in their open-ended commitment given that President Donald Trump campaigned on a desire to extricate the U.S. from messy wars in the Muslim world.

But that was before Netanyahu captured his ear.

    Straight from Netanyahu's wish-list.
