That's the main task on every POTUS job description - beside that he can read ("yes, we can")...

At a time when the USA needs the steady and calming hand of good leadership, we have Trump tweeting out "Liberate" comments to Michigan, Virginia, and Minnesota. We have so many whackos in this country, and Trump just gave them fuel. Trump is such a dirt bag.

From a friend: 'Watching this Trump meltdown in real time is actually quite scary. As the daily death toll in the US continues to rise, what is needed is strong leadership. What America has is a weaponised Trump PR campaign, blame-shifting and a complete lack of accountability.

    Trump is America's Zuma.'

It's absolutely insane of him to be doing this.
It's obvious the only thing he's thinking about is how this will affect him in the eyes of his supporters.
He really does have to go, I hope the Dems can field a viable candidate and Biden is not it. Pity Cuomo won't run.
Donald Trump has posted highly incendiary tweets stoking protests against physical distancing and other coronavirus stay-at-home measures in three states led by Democratic governors.

“LIBERATE MINNESOTA!” the US president wrote in capital letters on Friday. “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!”He followed up with a third tweet: “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!” – a reference to Virginia’s governor, Ralph Northam, last week signing into law new measures on gun control.

Trump has repeatedly ignored his own entreaty to put partisan politics aside during the coronavirus pandemic.
His latest provocative interventions followed demonstrations against stay-at-home orders in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and other states that have drawn elements of the far right.

Some protesters have carried guns, waved Trump and Confederate flags and sought to frame the debate as a defence of constitutional freedoms.

They have been egged on by conservative media hosts such as Fox News’s Jeanine Pirro, who said: “What happened in Lansing [Michigan] today, God bless them: it’s going to happen all over the country.”At Friday’s White House coronavirus taskforce briefing, Trump played down fears that by crowding together, the protesters themselves could spread the Covid-19 illness.

“These are people expressing their views,” he told reporters. “I see where they are and I see the way they’re working. They seem to be very responsible people to me, but they’ve been treated a little bit rough.”

In 2017 the president was condemned for reacting to a deadly clash between white nationalists and counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, by observing that there “were very fine people on both sides”.On Friday, Trump also stood by his criticism of the Democratic governors, even though they are following his own federal guidelines.

“I think some things are too tough,” he said. “And if you look at some of the states you just mentioned, it’s too tough, not only in reference to this but what they’ve done in Virginia with respect to the second amendment is just a horrible thing ... When you see what other states have done, I think I feel very comfortable.”Coronavirus: the week explained -

Asked if he believed Michigan, Minnesota and Virginia should lift their stay-at-home orders, the president added: “I think elements of what they’ve done are too much, just too much ... What they’ve done in Virginia is just incredible.”

Trump, known to watch Fox News closely, has offered mixed messages. On Monday he claimed “total” authority to order an end to the stay-at-home measures, but on Thursday issued phased “guidelines” that passed the buck to governors to make decisions on the ground about when and how to reopen. His tweets on Friday appeared to undercut his own experts’ warnings and drew sharp criticism.
Trump calls protesters against stay-at-home orders 'very responsible' | US news | The Guardian
“If we stop testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any.” Donald J Trump.

"Stay at home" strategies are not working in any country, hence why everyone is opening business again

    we have no choice,

that virus could kill a few millions before the end of the year, China needs to answer for their crimes, expect a new war over this

I think you have been living in isolation for a bit too long

you will be surprised what intelligent people outside Thailand think

China is being accused by Europeans of hiding things and will need to answer for their failings, basically mirroring, in more polite and articulated manner, what Trump is saying in his daily shit shows

I wouldn't be surprised that we go into some kind of World War with China over this,

global leaders are certainly preparing their rethorics over this, and will get worse once economics start to get really sour on the average person

The countries that have implemented "stay at home" (lockdown) strategies are experiencing significantly lower rates of infection than those that aren't .
Look at the clusterfuck in the U.S. because A: They were wishy washy about stay home strategies, and B: They fucked around with the testing.
The debate about this will rage for decades (a-la 9/11) as will the consequences.
Things will never be the same again. This has altered the trajectory of human society.
Time will forever be in the context of before and after Covid19/2020.

do you have any idea of his history with labor unions in NY? let's just say he wouldn't poll well in the union heavy swing states of WI and MI...and without those states it would be incredibly difficult for him to get to 270.

and a few knuckleheads on here were trying to tar biden as corrupt....the last thing cuomo wants is the national media looking into his sketchy ties to lobbyists and wall st, because that's exactly the type of (alleged) corruption that the trump campaign would feed on.

and if people think that progressives are disappointed that biden is the nominee, they'd be borderline suicidal if it were cuomo.

there are two reasons he didn't run...he couldn't get the nomination and he couldn't win the general.

Their approach and handling, thereof, is insanely political - compared to the rest of the world who grasped what it is....obvious, as to see how most everyone is close to recovery, while in the USA it lingers and grows substantially while they bicker and fiddle around. Doesn't help the cause to have a rather dumbed-down population.

    The pathogen isn't political.

So much for their exceptional and enlightened state.

President Donald Trump-3woii6-jpg...conspiracy theorists (on the left this time) are saying that tRump is using his "liberate the states" call as a trial run for widespread insurrection if polls suggest he's going to lose in November...

65% of Americans think he’s dropped the ball, and he’s sweating bullets.

and yet he will be re-elected,

all global leaders have been slow in their reaction, and they all try to justify themselves, but the pointing fingers will hit the shitfan once everyone is back to normal

I have no faith in polls.Just like the the polls that said he would loose the last election.

so why is this poll correct? I am not a Trump fan.

You keep saying that and it keeps on not being true. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And no matter how much you continue to lower the bar for him Trump is judged on Trump's performance in confronting the pandemic -- which has been completely inept and woeful -- nobody else's.

not being true that leaders have been slow to react? god, you are a bit slow, it's all over the news, Boris, Macron, WHO Director etc... all slow in face of the virus spreading

your hate of Trump is blinding you,

as for his daily shitshow, well it's a different style from the others, but in essence he is saying the same thing as everyone else, and none of them have any more clue than Trump, they are blind as a bat (no pun)

Macron is also supporting the Chlorodine thing if that gives you a hint

You've named three other people one of whom isn’t a leader in the sense being discussed. No wonder you keep posting such absolute bollocks with a limited outlook as that.

We are all born ignorant but it takes effort to remain so and you are working very, very hard Butters. Take a break!
