    The Metrosexualisation of Aussies....Sunscreen?

When I was growing up, Aussie were known to be tough blokes. Indeed some of our Aussie members like Balders etc still are real blokes no doubt. However, no one can deny that in the past 10-20 years or so the new breed of Aussie men are not so much Bruce's as Caitlyns. Australia is the metrosexual capital of the world, with more femine males per capita (source needed) than any other country.

But why? Could sunscreen be the problem?

A carefree look at the ingredients of sunscreen offers up some interesting chemicals. Lets take one of the most common ones, benzophenones (BP-1, BP-2, BP-3) which are sold as permeability enhancing UV stabilizers. These interfere with the production of testosterone, hence turning Aussie Blokes into shifters. It also reduces the likelihood of men getting women up the pole as well.

Another ingredient Methylbenzylidene Camphor increases estrogen in the body, also turning blokes into birds, just like the typical aussie Caitlyn of today.

Homosolate, well even Wiki tells you that this will turn you into a bird as well.

Another interesting aspect of this is that the areas of the world where Coral reefs are dying are those where there is significant diving tourism, and those that are not commercialized are seemingly doing OK still. Coral reacts to these chemicals in the same fashion, and are slowly being sterilized by the sunscreen residue of the divers.

So my fellow teakdoorians from Australia, and lets not forget the west coast of Murica who also have the Metrosexual tendencies as well, if you want to stop being POOF or stop your kids being POOF... ditch the sunscreen, especially the high UV Factor ones.

you sound like a grand mother, are you gay ?

all men love to be feminine, it's in their genes,

and one reason all men love to wacth gay sex between 2 women

and would rather stay among men for a night out than go with women

Skin cancer, and the rates therof in Australia should be Googled before assuming anyone who uses it down there is a poof. The "bronze Aussie" goal of years ago put many a man and women into an early grave.

The Thai dermatologist at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital told me I need to carry a sun umbrella because of my repeated episodes of skin cancer.

Have never been insecure about my masculinity, but I told her I'd rather die. She was not amused. Got a big floppy hat, wear long sleeve shirts in the daytime and wear crew socks over my hands when riding a motorcycle instead.

Something fried his brain that's for sure.

Perhaps it was the ECT they gave him before they let him out on license.

same here, after an unwanted, unexpected and unfortunate encounter with mr. malignant melanoma 4 years ago i have learnt to be very wary of the sun and always wear a hat or use a sun umbrella here if i am going to be in the sun for anything more than 5 minutes.

wonder why pseudolus denigrates shirtlifters so much.

But stay away from studies that link increase in use of sunscreen and skin cancer should be looked at though? Best stay away from those studies, right?

^Well my studies are based on watching a few friends and 2 direct-family members die from cancer, including melanoma, and having had a scare with the later myself.

I play golf at least twice a week which means 3-5 hours in the sun. My choice for sun protection is a large hat, quality eye-wear, and sunscreen to all exposed areas but I still get burned at times. The UV rays and incidences of melanoma here are fuck-all compared to Australia, but to ignore the danger and go out into the sun for extended periods with no protection (studies aside) would be pure stupidity.

Thailand is in the tropics and UV is high. Bangkok is on the same latitude as Cooktown...North of Cairns. And Southern Thailand is closer to the equator than that.

I think that melanomas are probably more common in Oz simply because we are largely Caucasian, whereas Thai people have melanin pigment in their skin which protects them from UV to a large extent.

When living in Thailand I always used an umbrella. In Oz, I only use sunscreen when necessary, so I try to get the best of both worlds.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are an unfortunate reality, but I think that the worst time to be exposed to them is whilst a fetus, from PCBs ingested by a mother who ate fish high up on the food chain.

I do however wonder about the possible effect of chemicals in sunscreen on children and adolescents.

Caucasian folks aren't meant to dwell in the torrid zones.
Back to your roots - dull and stoic temperate zones.

it is the dull and stoic temperate zones that provided us caucasians with the intelligence and forethought to develop a system of forward planning to secure regular food supplies throughout the year, as opposed to tropical dwellers who cant think beyond the next five minutes as they wait for the next fruit to fall off the tree onto their plate whilst they doze aimlessly on their hammocks.

it also explains why inquisitive caucasians explore, invent and develop as opposed to the dull stagnation common amongst tropical dwelling folk.

All in one UV body suit is the way to go, no gay chemicals but you might get some chasing you if you wear it.

Damned if you do damned if you don't..

The abbos have thick skin and thick skulls
whilst whities have thin skin and thin skulls.

    Don't ever head-butt an abbo.

As for the the 'metrosexualization' of the Aussie male, whatever the suspected cause, what evidence is their that this is actually happening?
If it is I blame decades of feminism and ridicule in all forms of media of manliness and machismo.
Boys named Tristan are encouraged to play with dolls and talk about their feelings rather than play with guns and kick that other kid who called him a bad name.
I also expect this whole 'metrosexualization' thing is more an issue in the major cities where the feminists and faggots reign.
Go to the bush and up the coast and it's probably a whole different story.
