They would give the whole world a lot less reason to hate Israeli's and Israel, if they were to cease the brutal and illegal occupation of Palestine.
Like the current President of Israel, I'm an advocate of the one state solution these days. Like the previous President, Shimon Peres, I would point to the many and manifest benefits to Israel and the Israeli's when the situation is normalised. Or, when it comes down to it, do they just have this deep psychological need to be Hated?
Possibly after 4,000 years the Jewish majority of Israel has decided to protect their own interests looking back at history.

Indeed - two state solution is based up the western partition principal which lets face has never worked. A one state solution which is the desire for most palestinians as well who basically just want to live a fair and equal life at peace has so many benefits, and mostly for the Jewish population of israel. However the reason that everyone is pushing for the 2 state is that it is un-achievable, and whilst that is being endlessly debated and negotiated, Bibi and his bunch of psychos can continue with their land grabs and ethic cleansing unabated until such a time as they have a single state... with no arabs left.Quote:

Israel returned the whole of Sinai to Egypt in exchange for peace accord hoping to provide a vast area with sea access to be settled. Egypt said negatory to Gazans and West Bankers as did Jordan prior.
Think back to how Btitain took control over the territory after WW1 from the Turks with the Sykes-Picot Agreement. Funny how war works because the losers usually get dealt from an uneven deck. Sad reality.

We're talking about the Palestine of the League of Nations mandated Palestine, which included trans-Jordania, aka trans-Jordan, (= east of, and across the River Jordan), a largely deserted area previously under Ottoman rule, as was the land west of the River Jordan, now called Israel.
Trans-Jordan was a new state conveniently created by the British in 1921, as an Arab homeland in Palestine, benefitting Britain's Arab allies in WW1, and as an administrative cop-out for for Britain.
It was far easier to dump responsibility for 77% of Palestine on an emerging puppet state ally, the newly created semi-legal entity of the Hashemite Kingdom of trans-Jordan, than to play referee between competing Jewish and Arab interests that were bound to erupt there.
This allowed the British to 'kettle' and control the Jews in the mandated territory to the west bank of the Jordan, while effectively restricting both their immigration into Palestine and their activities there, while Arabs were allowed almost unrestricted freedom of movement throughout all of mandated Palestine.
There was never a country called Jordan before then, all the former Ottoman territory Britain administered under the League of Nations mandate for Palestine was called Palestine, including trans-Jordan, as described in;
The Balfour Declaration was a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. It read:
"His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country."
The text of the letter was published in the press one week later, on 9 November 1917. The "Balfour Declaration" was later incorporated into both the Sèvres peace treaty with the Ottoman Empire, and the Mandate for Palestine.
The declaration was in contrast to the McMahon-Hussein correspondence, which promised the Arab independence movement control of the Middle East territories "in the limits and boundaries proposed by the Sherif of Mecca" in exchange for revolting against the Ottoman Empire during World War I.

That was Britain's quandary, on the one hand a promise to establish a Jewish homeland , in then known Palestine, which included the territory called by the British, "trans-Jordan", while simultaneously promising (in 1915) to gift their Arab allies via King Abdullah, the then Sherif of Mecca, all the mandated territory east of the River Jordan
The remainder, the land west of the River Jordan, to be reserved as a homeland for the Jewish people.

Jordan formally annexed the West Bank on April 24, 1950. The annexation was regarded as illegal and void by the Arab League and others. It was recognized only by Britain, Iraq and Pakistan. The annexation of the West Bank more than doubled the population of Jordan.

Egypt also did its bit in invading and occupying Gaza in 1948 until 1967, and made a complete mess of the place. Israel booted Egypt out in 1967 and developed Gaza into a prosperous area, until Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, giving it over to the Palestinian and Egyptian Arabs living there, who promptly wrecked the place and then had to rely on Israeli aid to survive,as Egypt refused to support their Palestinian brothers there.
So, if the Jews left Palestine/Israel would the Arabs be content with that?
Of course not, from the onset, the Arabs wanted all of Palestine, from the Mediterranean Sea across to Arabia, from the Sinai up to Syria, the whole of British mandate Palestine. THe Arabs wanted the Jews either dead, or out of Palestine altogether.
Muslim Arabs are taught daily that Jews are pigs and evil and so on and must be killed at any opportunity, something Muslims attempt on an almost regular basis.
