Obama wants to reduce our involvement in the ME, so how is he embarrassed. Putin runs in and commits his country to protecting Assad by killing Muslim rebels who want Assad out, making the same stupid mistake America did when it started killing people over there. Putin may be mounting his horse with his shirt off to take a victory lap, but we'll see how this plays out and who winds up embarrassed.
There are stil many twists to the road ahead, but as of now, he has been embarrassed, humiliated even.
Let me guess . . . Benghazi is still an issue with you as well.

Pray tell, using facts, how has he been embarrassed, humiliated even, in Iraq/Syria? Try not to use neo-con blog one-liners, please.

He hasn't been successful with his limited engagement policy, but embarrassed and humiliated? Give it a rest.
The rebels he is arming and funding in his half assed attempt at providing a so called 'moderate' alternative to the assad regime his being bombed to smithereens and he is powerless to do anything about it. What else can it be besides an embarrassment or humiliation? Russia has occupied the skies in its chosen theater and the US dare not enter.

    Is it not painfully obvious?

BTW to rub salt into the wounds Russia is provocatively entering Turkish airspace, (a NATO member in case you don't know that), its obviously signalling to Turkey who the big boss is in Syria and who they should be listening to.

    Smashed them.

    Yeah right.

And that's why they'll be taking over the country just as soon as the seppos have run away with their tails between their legs.

Meanwhile the instigators you describe have coined it at the expense of billions of dollars, thousands of American lives and who knows how many good and bad Afghanis who've been on the end of a carpet bombing or two.

I have read the history and the way the us threw afghanistan into the toilet is sad, the actual invasion was a rout. They no interest. They tried to right it later but it was too late by then.
Rout my arse. That's like saying you've eliminated ants because you stomped on a few.

All the "invasion" did was drive them underground and into hiding.

And they've been picking off US troops ever since.

They don't mind dying, so there's an inexhaustible supply of them.

Actually a lot like ants really. Or cockroaches.

Russia couldn't beat them and were not defeated militarily, they were just worn down because they could not win.

    Same with the US.
You are entitled to your opinion; shame it is at odds with reality.

The UK also sent some vehicles to Syria.

    Article from August 2013

So far the UK has sent around £8m of “non-lethal” aid, according to official papers seen by The Independent, comprising five 4x4 vehicles with ballistic protection; 20 sets of body armour; four trucks (three 25 tonne, one 20 tonne); six 4x4 SUVs; five non-armoured pick-ups; one recovery vehicle; four fork-lifts; three advanced “resilience kits” for region hubs, designed to rescue people in emergencies; 130 solar powered batteries; around 400 radios; water purification and rubbish collection kits; laptops; VSATs (small satellite systems for data communications) and printers. In addition, funds have been allocated for civic society projects such as inter-community dialogue and gathering evidence of human rights abuses. The last “gift” to the opposition, announced by William Hague last week, is that £555,000 worth of counter-chemical warfare equipment is on standby.

And from December 2013 deliveries were stopped because they were going walkabout.

Britain and US suspend non-lethal aid to Syrian rebels - Telegraph

Britain and the United States have suspended assistance to Syrian rebel forces as the opposition continues to fracture and fall under the influence of hard-line Islamists.

The hold on supplies of non-military assistance such as body armour, communications equipment and, in the American case, armoured vehicles, was in direct response to the takeover by a new pan-Islamist faction of army posts in the north belonging to the western-backed, secular-led Free Syrian Army and its Supreme Military Council.

Among the buildings seized were warehouses storing western aid, including vehicles, food and other supplies.

Even in 2013 the "moderate/good" rebels were under the bad boys influence! Who could have foreseen that and the "aid" going walkabouts.

Allegedly the Russian navy has entered the fray. From ships in the Caspian Sea some cruise missiles were fired. All of which stuck strictly to the pre planned courses, across international waters, Iran, Iraq and into Syria. See the link for a map showing the routes taken and the splitting off of the missiles to their intended targets

    https://www.rt.com/news/317864-russi...ssiles-launch/

Propaganda from my friend the Russian leader follows, have a brown bag at hand harry + members of the unenlightened coalition.

On each border crowds gathered to cheer the mighty Russian Navy as the missiles sped on to do their mission of sending terrorists to meet their virgins. Prisoners in the Gulag have gone on hunger strike to allow the sending of their food to the Russian Forces stationed in Syria. No kittens or puppies were hurt in this mission.
Information received from our brave agents in the "Black" countries indicate continuous mass murders of innocent citizens and POUSE has shrugged his shoulders once again. Food is rationed by a card system to many. Inner city gangs are cutting the heroin % to 2% in their twists ( Russian Government Standard is 18%)

Back to our scheduled programmes - The Red Star bad and ethnically inclusive choir.

Not necessarily relating to Syrian action but in response to POTUSE apology regarding slaughtering civilians in a MSF hospital. A tweet thread has been gathering steam. One "tweeter" alleges that video and sound recordings are available for all American military aircraft. As the military leaders of the crusader coalition boast of many hours of missions over Syria would these recordings confirm or deny it's "activity" over ithe past few months, years and decades of illegal wars?

"Edward Snowden Verified account ‏@Snowden 15h15 hours ago AC-130 warplanes record the gunner's video and audio. It's time to release the tapes to an #IndependentInvestigation. "

What's the point of this exactly?

The US have actually put their hands up and said "It was us".

Pay the compensation and move on.

It's supposed to be a war on terror, they don't drop leaflets saying "is it ok if we bomb you?".

What will it take to get Rid of ISIS?

Easy. The rumour, discretely started, that their heaven has run out of virgins.

It's only those virgins that give them the passion to fight and die so enthusiastically.

I would have thought that pointing out that they get to spend eternity with their wife (or wives) would be more effective in making them want to live.

As proven by the red received from a humourless lady I'm too discrete to name.
