A four-year-old boy has died days after being accidentally shot in the head by a handgun tucked into his father’s pants, police said.
Tripp Shaw, of Indiana, was injured on Sunday night last week when a Glock semi-automatic handgun that his dad Tyler had tucked in the small of his back discharged while they play-wrestled on a bed in their Bloomington home, the New York Post reported.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported the young boy died on Thursday, according to indystar.com.

In what sort of civilised society does a normal father keep a loaded gun in his pants.

Then keeps it in there as he play-wrestles his 4 yr old son.

What a really foked up people Americans are.

    a) you need a good guy with a gun to counter the bad guy with a gun - that's why you need 400 million guns in a population of 360 million people

    b) an individual is considered a 'well-regulated' militia like corporations/companies are human beings

    c) huntin' fer food (obviously a handgun is capable of bringing down a grizzly bear/moose/mouse/mountain lion in downtown Boston/Seattle or Houston

    d) one has a micro-penis

    e) to be safe while shopping at Walmart

    f) to counter a take-over by the federal government and their midnight-flying black helicopters

    g) population control

    h) you can shoot trespassers who stop to ask directions or children going trick-or-treating on Halloween

    i) you can be perpetually frightened

    j) Mexicans

    k) Blacks/African-Americans

    l) God gave you that right

All good reasons . . . for the US population

When my father was first posted to the US, the mayor invited him for a welcome 'party' and gave him a rifle as a present with the advice that he can shoot anyone entering his property, that's part f the American ideal of freedom . . . Welcome to the USA

No stretch to suggest that if these men were black they would've met with a fair bit more resistance if not actually a hail of bullets.

Also isn't being allowed to storm into your states capitol building whilst kitted out like Rambo Jnr. a bit like shouting on a street corner that your freedom of speech is being denied:

They were allowed to step around metal detectors, which many people pointed out showed an immense amount of privilege.

A good point was made in the comments about what happened after the Black Panthers tried a similar stunt back when 'ole pre-senile Ronald Reagan was governor in California. The hero of the right and gun-lovers everywhere immediately instituted a ban on open carry of loaded guns. A ban than was supported by the NRA.

Part of a raft of laws and actions designed and targeted at keeping guns out of the hands of black people and an anathema to everything the pro-gun lobby spouts today. Proving yet again you don't need to be a right winger to be a hypocrite it just really helps (so too being afraid of black people and racist as fuck).

It's been like that in the US for as long as you care to look back. Equality is great, but just don't let the blacks/hispanics/native Americans etc... get uppity.

I have a friend in LA, who is black and built like a brick shithouse . . . and gentle as . . . he gets pulled over at least once a week by cops driving back home in the evenings after work.

He's a forensic accountant for one of the big four . . . an accountant.

Imagine living like that day in, day out

USA! USA! etc. Still I suppose they can pry his gun from his cold, dead hands now.

MILWAUKEE -- Five people were killed in a mass shooting at the Molson Coors facility in Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon. The gunman is also dead, Milwaukee police said.

All five victims were employees of Molson Coors, police said. No members of the general public were involved in the incident. The victims will not be identified until their families have been notified said Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales.

Morales said the gunman was a 51-year-old man who had been fired earlier that day. Police believe he left work, got a gun, and then returned before opening fire on his colleagues. He was found dead in the facility of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

So, was he a good guy with a gun or a bad guy with a gun? Sure, after killing the five people he was bad, but before?

    It just gets so confusing

It can be repealed. Just goes away.
We had the 18th amendment. Followed by the 21st which got rid of that ill thought out 18th. We Americans have our priorities.
Killing each other, as yet, seems not big enough priority to generate an amendment repealing the 2nd.

It'll never happen that Americans hand their guns in, as in the example of how Australians did which always gets trotted out as proof it can be done. They'll never be able to even make baby steps of gun control across the entire country like banning fully automatic weapons of war (M16's, AK47's, etc). Best case scenarios might include capping ammunition purchases to not more than 1000 rounds per week, and limiting firearm ownership to not more than 20 per household.

The moment kids getting blown away at school by the dozen became totally acceptable (thoughts and prayers are the trade-off) was the same moment anyone with a brain knew these fucking imbeciles hold absolutely nothing dearer than their guns.

Are we really gonna debate the gun thing again. It is isnt ever going to change.

As for the guy at Coors. Getting fired isnt like it used to be. Used to be you got fired and all your buddy's met you at the local pub after work and bought you a round and called you a lucky fkr to have gotten out. But that was back when jobs were plentiful and you could find a new one tomorrow. Now you get fired and you are essentially black listed from employment opportunities. People snap when you take their livelihood away especially over 50.
