^ Out of ammo for a green on that one...

As for Trump blaming the school officer, I think it would take a very brave man to take on an AR-15 armed with a handgun. A battle hardened veteran might have a go but not a 54 year-old Deputy.

Arming teachers? Oh dear, how much money have the NRA contributed to his life savings....

Get real President Trump; this is your one and only chance to redeem yourself.

Turn yourself into a hero by fighting the NRA.

They may be armed to the teeth with mega bucks but you will have an army of kids and over half the population of America to fight them with. You'll go down as the best President the USA ever had instead of the laughing stock you currently are.

    No-brainer really...

#BoycottNRA: Hertz and Avis are the latest companies to cut ties with gun lobby as movement gains steam

Several major companies — Enterprise Holdings, First National Bank of Omaha, Symantec, Hertz and Avis — have ended co-branding partnerships with the National Rifle Association as a #BoycottNRA social media movement picks up steam.
Enterprise — the parent company of car-rental brands Enterprise, Alamo and National — cut ties on Thursday, when it discontinued an arrangement that offered discounts to NRA members.

First National Bank of Omaha, one of the country’s largest privately held banks, also announced Thursday the end of a credit-card co-branding deal with the NRA. The bank had issued what its ads described as the “Official Credit Card of the NRA,” according to the Omaha World-Herald; the Visa card offered 5 percent back on gas and sporting goods store purchases and a $40 bonus card.

    ^That’s interesting.

John Oliver did a bit on the N.R.A and he pointed out that membership and financial-wise they aren’t actually that powerful a group however they have disproportionate influence because what they are exceptionally good at doing are focusing and rallying their members to a single cause.

So a trending social media boycott aimed at them is kinda deliciously ironic.

This is for sure their primary strength. Members getting out the vote based on this single issue alone. Get out enough and it can tip an election because for the majority of voters gun control issues are not what brings out their vote. Gun control candidates need to offer more than gun control to get voters out to support them.

See your point re firepower, but have to disagree. He was paid to protect the kids to the best of his ability; he didn't even try. Meanwhile, unarmed kids died while trying to save their classmates...as did unarmed staff.

Agree. Not unusual for a cop to be outgunned but he took the job and the money to protect those kids. If ya can't stand the, get out of the kitchen.

IMHO...comes down to the Sheriff's Dept to hire and train capable, qualified deputies. Doesn't sound like they did. Wouldn't expect anybody to step up and take responsibility tho, everybody's looking to pass the buck and distract these days.

Actually he's a fully fledged American and is married to a US vet.

    You dolt.

Oh yes, and his show is on that good old bastion of British television, HBO.

Colbert made a good observation on Trump's arming teachers stance.
After the first "arm teachers" comment, Cadet Bonespurs recovered a bit and said "teachers that are trained to use a gun".
Colbert noted that Trump only wants trained-in-weapons teachers to have guns, because we don't want just anybody having guns, right?

Hey Mr. Earl, is Alex Jones saying this mass execution didn't happen, or that it was a false flag?

    She shoots. She scores!

Since the shooting massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week, a student there named Sarah Chadwick has amassed a Twitter following of more than 150,000 people. On Thursday night, Chadwick decided to share a thought with them.

Was it time for a message calling for thoughts, prayers and privacy?

Hardly. It was time to dunk on one of Florida's U.S. senators for taking donations from the National Rifle Assn.

"We should change the names of AR-15s to 'Marco Rubio' because they are so easy to buy," Chadwick wrote, earning 45,000 retweets.
