    Do the math Necron.
If Oz can do it a state can do it. If one state can do it all states can do it.
    Scale is irrelevant.
You are truly clueless when it comes to US politics.
It's not even politics man, it's the simple difference between letting your overloards dictate to you or make a stand against tyranny.

The reality is America is a gun country.

It can not go door to door and take those guns. It is impossible.
The USA gummint tried it on with alcohol too, and failed, and now ganja,...it won't work unless there's a consensus , where the people agree to a shared value.

Tightening up on gun carriage, storage, presentation, etc laws would see a lot of guns put away safely (not all, by a long shot), but out of sight, out of mind.

It'll take a couple of generations before US gun ownership is reduced dramatically, if at all IMO.

The bsnub is such a hypocrite.

Previous posts from said bsnub used to brag on his gun collection which he used to use as a means to get to the shooting range as bribes to 'friends' cuz he don't have a car.

Sell all yer guns now have you, bsnub?

No, just informed, unlike some here who are simply very, very blinkered.

You see Rick, not everyone needs to be a born and bred anything to have superior knowledge about something as simple - or simple-minded - as this obscene fascination with guns.

I've lived a good many years in the US, from elementary school all the way to postgrad and then work . . . and have met enough guys with clappers on like you to have a valid opinion - at least, very least, as valid as yours

Funny isn't it, America goes round the world interfering in other countries affairs, telling them what to do, helping overthrow democratically elected governments etc. but they do seem to be a bit touchy when others give them suggestions about their own fuked up country.

Ocker, if you lived in the US as you claim, how could you be so ignorant about citizen rights and the general gun ownership attitude? Where did you live, Disneyland? You obviously learned nothing about US culture and popular opinion.

For one who supposedly spent so much time in America, you show very little understanding of what it means to be American.

Buriboy, do you really think the US public controls what the government does? Where are you from? Does your home country control how the government thinks and acts? Didnt think so.

    Oh dear, it's the double-smiley-jamiejambos self-affirmation reinforcement

Nothing supposed about it - why not just accept that your opinion or character is not like every other one of your countrymen/women's.
A good many, I'll agree . . . but then I wouldn't have spent any time with people like you when there are too many professional, educated, unblinkered ones around

Ocker, so sorry to smash your opinion of me, but educated yes, with over 34 years as a registered pharmacist. Most of those years I was in management, so my opinion must have been accepted by other professionals. So that answers your claim that I am not a professional.

You do appear to be the blinkered one since you still do not show any understanding of gun ownership in America. Your narrowminded stance that all Americans just go around shooting at everything they see is pure bunk. Since America does have over 320 million citizens and since firearms are allowed, there will always be some gun violence, but this represents a very small percentage and is over publicized since this is what sells in the news world.

So get over yourself Ocker and try looking at reality in American rather than spouting shit like some uninformed anti-gun twerp.

Did you even bother to read the article Necron? There were thousands who signed a petition to right this wrong of convicting the pharmacist.

The conviction was also appealed with good grounds to overturn things, but the judge who presided was the one who convicted in the first place and no judge will ever overturn his own conviction. The only thing this proves proves is how messed up the judicial system is in the US.

Your attempt to show gun ownership is wrong in the US is extremely weak Necron, so keep on a trollen.

^That's not "messed up," going back and shooting the unconscious robber five times is far in excess of self-defense, as is chasing the other robber outside and firing off two shots (that's how bystanders get hit). The robbers are/were no doubt useless pieces of shit that the world won't miss, but the pharmacist sounds like a psycho. Just because you've put someone down in self-defense doesn't mean you get to execute them.

I said the US judicial system is messed up, not the shooting. Why would thousands of citizens sign a petition to right this wrong if the pharmacist was a nut job like you claim?

Because, if you watch the video, he clearly is.
I followed this case quite closely at the time and my prediction was that he would walk.

Err... law isn't decided by what "thousands" of Americans sign on a petition.
You have an elected upper and lower house who make law and an independent judiciary who adjudicate it.

I thought at the time. that based on the castle doctrine he cpuld have gotten off, but his lawyer wasn't up to the task.
    Thankfully.

No, but public opinion does play a role in deciding whether a wrong has been committed. Do you really think lawmakers are the end all when it comes to right or wrong? If so, you are dumber than I thought.

I will say it again Necron since you have such a short attention span. I thought you said you followed this case closely.

READ THE ARTICLE ON THE VIDEO YOU POSTED.

    Got it?

By the way. This story really doesnt seem to be a current affair since the charges were lodged in 2009 and the conviction came 2 years, later. Do try to use more current articles in the future Necron.

I thought it was law, a Judge and 12 peers who decided what was right or wrong?
Are you saying that a few thousand petition signers outweigh the constitution and bill of rights?
