Most of the mass shootings have been committed by the mentally ill.

80% of the mass shootings use legally purchased weapons.

You still seem to be coming up with feeble excuses for not tightening gun laws.

Remember, the constitution says nothing about letting any moron buy a military grade firearm to compensate for his tiny penis.

The problem is that people tend to be emotional and those emotions tend to cause irrational behaviour. Irrational behaviour with a tool at hand that is designed specifically to kill is just a little bit dangerous.

'Familiarity breeds contempt' and Americans are over-familiar with firearms causing them to be just a little bit careless, as this thread has shown all too often.
Being emotional is normal, but acting irrational because of emotions manifests a mental problem.
On the contrary, it is quite normal human behaviour. Stress can cause some very strange actions in the very sanest of people. Let's take the co-pilot of AF447 as a classic example pulling the stick hard back to try and follow the flight director when in a stall. Seems insane but I doubt he had any mental issues and I imagine a high proportion of people may have done the same thing under stress.

I don't agree with anyone being issued a gun without a reason at the time of issue and it should be put back immediately after the reason is no longer valid. A check should be made to ensure the person is mentally fit to receive the gun at the time of issue. That includes public, police and soldiers alike.

There is always a time when someone, normally perfectly okay, may be unfit to carry a gun be it on the range, on the farm or in the line of duty.

The idea that guns save lives in America is just plain old bullshit...

I'm not at all surprised. At least every 6 months or so some self-indulgent depressive too demoralised to foresee any sort of future other than a dire one of his own miserable making would pop down to the range, pick up a gun and a magazine, wander off to his cubicle and after loading up and sighting the weapon, he'd ponder the ground for a few moments and then blow his brains out.

Bit of a fucker for the chaps working there.

It's good that you find the subject of gun deaths amusing.

Several farang who've committed suicide actually. Which is why they've banned lone farang using the range.

In which case would it not make more sense to address mental illness issues?

Required firearms training would weed out the wackos.

A convenient excuse rolled out, with the weirdest photo they can find, in an attempt to explain the problem away.

Except the problem doesn't go away.

I doubt the problem will ever go away, but it makes sense to get to the root of it all, and try fixing it somewhat.

Indeed, a complete overhaul and rewrite of human culture is needed.

American consumerist culture out, an overall failure to the planet and life.

A Shintoism/Buddhism respect for life culture is required.

Big planet destroying petro/plastic/chemical industries like Monsanto, Dow chemical, Dupont, Ajinomoto wiped off the planet.

No more worship of money, global banking cartels closed permanently

Lovely ideals, but change will never come about throughout this circle.

The only true cleansing will come about with a 99 extermination percentile of this destructive Western "civilisation".

    Closure is at hand.

The root clearly being open access to guns....

Carrying any weapon in civilised areas is kinda weird, must have mental issues to think you need to do such a thing...don't you think? I mean a Housewife, two kids, shopping in downtown Springfield with a .38 special in her purse... loony tunes to me...

In order to rewrite human culture, the government structure must change. Governments directly affect the behaviour of society, which in time becomes the social norm.

Three charged in shooting death of US sprinter Tyson Gay’s teen daughter

THREE men have pleaded not guilty in the death of US sprinter Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter, who was caught in the crossfire of a carpark shootout.

Trinity Gay died at a Lexington, Kentucky, hospital on Sunday after she was shot in the neck about 4am during an exchange of gunfire between people in two parked vehicles in the car park of a nearby Cook Out restaurant.
Dvonta Middlebrooks, 21, fired multiple shots during the incident, investigators said on Sunday.
He was charged with wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A father and son — Chazerae Taylor, 38, and 19-year-old son D’Markeo Taylor — were charged with endangerment counts. Court records show the Taylors admitted also firing shots.

Reverance of life, nature, and the health of people and the environment seem preferable to the poisoning of the the planet with petro/plastic industries.

    Isn't that kinda obvious?
