In WW2 the marine corps adopted the 45 cal. semiautomatic hand gun for close quarter fighting.

There is a massive difference in accuracy and energy between most hand guns and assault weapon.

That is exactly why the Marine Corp adopted the 45 caliber hand gun for close quarter fighting in the Phillipines, it has a massive amount of energy at close range. Accuracy is not much of an issue at close range, someone with very little hand gun skill can be very effective.

If you understood firearms you'd realise that most handguns do not allow the firing of 30+ rounds without reloading.

And that is the reason most of these mass shootings can take so many lives.

The Republicans blocked the 2013 bill which was specifically designed to outlaw weapons that that can shoot a large number of rounds without having to reload.

There is a reason they are called "Assault" weapons and not "Defence" or "Hunting" weapons, you moron.
