11-Year-Old Charged With Murder in New Hampshire Double Shooting

An 11-year-old is in custody after allegedly killing two adults in a shooting Friday in the Lakes Region town of Alton, New Hampshire.


The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said Friday night that 50-year-old Lizette Eckert, who had suffered a gunshot wound, was found dead after police responded to a 911 call on Dobbins Way around 7:30 a.m. Her husband, James Eckert, 48, was also found shot.


James Eckert was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead later Friday night, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said.


An autopsy was completed Saturday on Lizette Eckert. The manner of her death was ruled a homicide and the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head.


An autopsy has been scheduled Monday for James Eckert.


According to Geoffrey Ward, a senior assistant attorney general, the juvenile suspect was apprehended around 9:30 a.m. He was charged with one count of reckless second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The charges filed are under the juvenile system. It's not immediately clear if he'll face additional charges now that James Eckert has died from his injuries.


Because of the suspect's age, Ward said limited information would be made available to the public.


Officials said there is no danger to the general public.


The nearby Alton Central and Prospect Mountain High schools were placed in lockdown during the time when Ward said authorities were searching for the suspect.


"There is no current threat to ACS," Alton Central School Principal John MacArthur said in an email. "As a precautionary measure we have activated a secure campus. Nobody is permitted in or out of the building until we are given an all clear."


State police tweeted around 9:45 a.m. that the "critical incident" had come to a conclusion and the schools lifted the lockdowns shortly after.


The investigation is ongoing.

The most interesting part is the NRA rep coaching them on the NRA's playbook in the event of a mass shooting:

"It's like, 'If you, if your policy, isn't good enough to stand on itself, how dare you use their deaths to push that forward?!'"

Mr Dalseide also explained how the NRA manipulated media coverage.


"You have somebody who leans to your side that worked at a newspaper, maybe he was covering city hall or was a crime reporter," he said. "We want to print up stories about people who were robbed, had their home invaded, were beaten or whatever it might be and that could have been helped had they had a gun. And that's going to be the angle on your stories. That's what he's got to write. He's got to put out two to five of those a week."


Another media manipulation tip was to ghostwrite columns for law enforcement officials, such as police sheriffs.

"A lot of the times, we'll write them for like a local sheriff in Wisconsin or whatever. And he'll draft it or she will help us draft it. We'll do a lot of the legwork because these people are busy. And this is our job. So, we'll help them and they'll submit it with their name on it so that it looks organic. You know, that it's coming from that community. But we will have a role behind the scenes."

So a cop can just shoot an unarmed man in a jail cell and get away with it. Oh, of course, it's America.

A police officer in Bucks County has been "excused" for shooting a man inside a holding cell in a police station in early March and will not face criminal charges, the district attorney said in a letter Friday.

Brian Riling, a suspect in a simple assault and intimidation case, was taking off his belt when a confrontation between him and two officers occurred inside the New Hope Borough station.


During the tussle, one of the officers shot Riling in the stomach in what Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintrab called an "honest but mistaken belief" that he was going to use a Taser instead of a handgun.

“After careful consideration, I have determined that [the officer’s] shooting of arrestee Brian Riling on March 3, 2019, was neither justified, nor criminal, but was excused,” Weintraub wrote in a letter to New Hope Police Chief Michael Cummings.

The officer will not be identified, Weintrab said in a statement released online.

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Authorities say a North Carolina man has been arrested after two children were shot in a road rage incident.

Surry County officials say 41-year-old Byron Donnell Green of Mount Airy is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a weapon into an occupied property causing bodily injury and assault by pointing a gun. Bond for Green was set at $600,000.



Investigators say a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were shot Saturday afternoon after Green became involved in a road rage incident with their father in the Flat Rock community of Mount Airy.

The children were driven to the hospital by their father. The boy was treated and released, and the girl was reported in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Alabama authorities say a high school graduation party fueled by alcohol spiraled out of control early Saturday, leaving one person dead.


Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks tells news outlets eight other people were hurt in a shooting at the old Escambia County Middle School, which now serves as the city's community center.

Authorities received a 911 call around 2 a.m. When police arrived, they found a man who was shot to death inside the building's cafeteria. His name has not been released.

Witnesses say the gunfire erupted after a fight between two women during a party that drew hundreds. Brooks said word spread about the party via social media.


Brooks says they have made no arrests at this time, but they are looking for two people.
