Aurora Colorado Cops Just Shot an Unarmed Man While Handcuffing Him, But They Let a Killer Live

Police in Aurora, Colorado have now confirmed that they shot an unarmed man in the chest while handcuffing him. The victim’s name is Naeschylus Vinzant. He was on parole since March 2nd, but police say he absconded when he removed his ankle bracelet.
When we asked police about the shooting they began listing all of the bad things that Vinzant, 37, had done in his life, as though listing these things would justify their shooting him in the chest while being handcuffed, and while he was unarmed.
At a press conference Monday, police said that “members of the SWAT team attempted to take the subject into custody, at which time one shot was fired and the subject was struck one time in the chest.”
Police Commander Paul O’Keefe tried to emphasize that “officers didn’t know” that Vinzant was unarmed until after they shot and killed him. So now, apparently, it is a defense to shoot someone if they might theoretically have a weapon concealed on them… even if they don’t.
Remember that Aurora is the same town where mass-murderer James Holmes shot and killed 12 people and injured 70 others at a movie theater. Holmes was Caucasian and armed to the teeth. Critics of this most recent police shooting in Aurora note that Vinzant is African American.
One was armed, the other wasn’t. The armed man was taken alive… the unarmed one wasn’t.
Aurora’s first African-American chief Nicholas Metz says that he is going to meet with community groups to “keep things calm.” But right now the mainstream media is barely touching this story, so it is unlikely that there will be widespread outrage unless concerned citizens begin spreading the word about the injustice.

statistics, lies and statistics
According to CDC the odds of homicide by firearm in America is 3.5 / 100,000 people and death by automobile accident is 11.6 / 100,000 people.
Interestingly suicide by firearm is almost the same as homicides annually.
There are some forked-up areas in America where one should not travel at night or during the day without support...unfortunately shit can happen anywhere even in the posh spots.
Personally I have never carried a concealed weapon...nor really felt the need.
Possibly I was naive or just in tune with where I was and what I was doing.
Possibly I was just lucky...3.5 / 100,000 ---I didn't win the lottery.
