No, you just believe the absolute bullshit published by *your* state propaganda sites.

Anyone in for a good laugh?
Putler's comedy news at its best.
Happy 9 May your poor slobs!!

Russian Federation (RF) authorities informed family members of dead crewman from the cruiser Moskva that the state will offer them no survivor compensation , because the warship sank by accident not in military action, and their son’s whereabouts are unknown , news reports on Friday, May 6, said.

A letter from the RF Black Sea Fleet’s (BSF) prosecutor general’s office sent to Dmitriy Shkrebets, father of Moskva crew member Egor Shkrebets, and made public on May 6, said the Moskva’s Apr. 14 sinking took place in international waters by accident . The warship, by a substantial margin the BSF’s most powerful weapon, was in international waters and had not been participating in combat operations against Ukraine , and the younger Shkrebets’ whereabouts is not known, the RF navy letter asserted.

Follow the Moskwa down to the Black Sea Jaaa listening to the wind of.......

    Happy 9 May

It was a shock that, days after the Moskva sank, the family still hadn't received any news about their son's whereabouts. "He shouldn't even have been on the ship during the mission. Our government keeps telling us that there are no conscripts in Ukraine, only professional soldiers,” the Russian complains. And adds: “I cannot say whether my attitude to what is happening in Ukraine has changed. After all, I don't want to be branded a traitor to the people later on."
"Moskva" sinking: Desperate mother reveals new insights into the situation on the ship

Update from April 21, 10 a.m.: More and more reports from desperate parents are coming to light: After the sinking of the warship "Moskva", there is apparently still uncertainty about the whereabouts of numerous crew members. Der Spiegel spoke to the mother of a 20-year-old conscript who has been reported missing. Her attempts to get answers from the Russian army about the whereabouts of her child have so far failed.

77 Years On… Victory Day Over Nazi Germany and Where Wartime Allies Now Stand

    May 6, 2022

"Russia and its allies celebrate May 9 with a living conviction to defeat Nazism and imperialist aggression.

Russia celebrates Victory Day on Monday, May 9, the annual commemoration of the defeat of Nazi Germany. The date marks the official surrender of the Third Reich to the allied forces.

However, it is truly remarkable that of the three main World War Two allies – the United States, Britain and the Soviet Union – it is Russia that stands alone in continuing to celebrate the historic victory with such vibrancy and deep emotional reverence. ....

Russia and its allies celebrate May 9 with a living conviction to defeat Nazism and imperialist aggression and to uphold the legal and moral principles of the United Nations. It is obvious and shockingly shameful where the United States and its imperialist allies now evidently stand. What’s even more disturbing: their historical trajectory is not a deviation; it is an organic continuum of Western imperialism. The only thing that has changed over the years is the ideological, myth-making camouflage to conceal the malevolent nature; and that camouflage is increasingly threadbare to the point of being discarded altogether."

Oh dear, Puffy must have been mortified (excuse the pun )

Russian state television channels were hacked to display messages telling viewers that their hands are “covered in blood” over Ukraine, as the Kremlin celebrated the anniversary of its victory over Nazi Germany.

With millions tuning in to watch the Victory Day parade in Moscow on Monday, programme names were changed to display messages such as “television and the government is lying” and “your hands are covered in blood from the deaths of thousands of Ukrainians and their children”.

The names of all Russian TV stations were changed to read “blood is on your hands” – including the Kremlin’s main propaganda channel Russia One.

The “no to war” messages are understood to have featured on the majority of Russian TV channels between 7am and 11am, disrupting coverage of the Kremlin’s televised war celebrations.

Former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak said some channels have been affected since last night. “At night and in the morning, residents of Russia who wanted to watch festive TV programme stumbled upon such messages. I wonder who exactly was hacked. Whose head will fly off his shoulders?” she said.

While Russian authorities are yet to acknowledge the hack, mobile operator MTS said it had been affected by a “cyberattack” that transmitted “extremist inscriptions” onto its channels.

German firm meets key demand on Russian gas payment

VNG will transfer euro payments to a new account with Russia’s Gazprombank

    10 May, 2022 13:07

"Germany’s third-largest gas importer, VNG, has agreed to Moscow’s new ruble-based gas payment scheme and opened the necessary accounts with Russia’s Gazprombank to transfer payments, the company said in an emailed statement to Reuters on Monday.

“We will pay the invoice amount, which will continue to be denominated in euros, into the accounts at Gazprombank in accordance with the planned procedure, so that timely payment to our supplier is ensured on our part,” the statement read.

The company added that it expects the conversion into rubles to not cause any difficulties, noting that “the opening of the account went completely smoothly.”

EXCLUSIVE German gas importer VNG to transfer euros to Russia for payment

    By Tom Käckenhoff

    and Christoph Steitz

    DUESSELDORF, May 9 (Reuters) -

"Germany's VNG (VNG.UL) will transfer euro payments for Russian gas to Gazprombank (GZPRI.MM) in the future and expects no problems during a conversion to roubles, it said on Monday, meeting Moscow's key demands under a fresh payment scheme.
VNG's first detailed comments on the matter come as European buyers of Russian gas have to navigate a new set of rules Moscow has imposed to pay for its most precious commodity, most notably a demand to pay in roubles via an elaborate scheme.

European gas buyers are concerned that adopting the new measures, under which they have to open accounts at Gazprombank for future payments, could breach sanctions law and that rejecting them could trigger major gas supply disruptions.

VNG, which is majority-owned by German regional utility EnBW (EBKG.DE), said it was taking all necessary measures, in line with existing sanctions law, to continue to ensure supply and therefore economic stability in Germany.

"We will pay the invoice amount, which will continue to be denominated in euros, into the accounts at Gazprombank in accordance with the planned procedure, so that timely payment to our supplier is ensured on our part," VNG said in an emailed statement.

"We also assume that the conversion into roubles will not cause any difficulties. At least the opening of the account went completely smoothly."
The company did not respond to written follow-up questions asking to clarify whether it had opened two accounts with Gazprombank, one for euro payments and one for the rouble conversion.

Along with Uniper (UN01.DE) and RWE (RWEG.DE), VNG is one of Germany's top importers of Russian gas.
EnBW has said that 20% of the 495 terawatt hours of gas it procured last year came via direct agreements with Russian suppliers, adding those volumes would decrease from 2023 onward."

How is your reported, Germany ,"signed and agreed", Qatar gas agreement going 'arry.

Qatar, Germany in deadlock on LNG supply deal – media

The two countries are at odds over the timeframe of the contract

    10 May, 2022 11:56

"Germany and Qatar have failed to reach an agreement regarding long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contracts, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing people close to the talks.

According to the outlet, Berlin will not agree to Qatar’s demand to sign deals for a duration of at least 20 years. Despite seeking to end its reliance on Russian natural gas amid the situation in Ukraine, Berlin reportedly views this timeframe as contradicting its plan to slash carbon emissions by 88% by 2040.

“The issue of LNG contract length potentially putting Germany’s decarburization targets at risk is part of the ongoing discussions with Qatar,” one of the sources told Reuters, noting that Germany is not the only nation eager to secure LNG supplies from Qatar.

Qatar also wants to contractually prevent Germany from rerouting the LNG deliveries to other European states, and this measure is not welcome by the EU, the sources said.

"One of the sources told the publication that the LNG deal between Qatar and Germany “is not expected to happen soon.”

Qatar needs to be beaten with a stick.

...we must note that Qatar was the only Gulf state that tried to obstruct the liberation of Kuwait by preventing a Gulf Cooperation Council decision to adopt the military war to liberate Kuwait during a meeting in December 1990. Then Crown Prince Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa insisted that he will not discuss the liberation of Kuwait unless and until Bahrain is forced to give up the disputed islands with Qatar.
    ...they will oblige

VE Day is a slightly more somber observance in Europe.

    National celebrationsEdit

VE Day is celebrated across European nations as public holidays and national observances.

The Allies see no reason to parade through the streets with marching troops and vulgar displays of more recent weaponry, in the same manner that Russians celebrate.
Millions of people died during WWII. Nothing to celebrate about that.
