Maybe you can explain why the Russian girls group Pussy Riot has just been designated a foreign agent, or save you a job her is an amendment to the law which blind freddie (possibly not you though) can see was implemented to nobble the governments opponents.

Here is part of the latest amendment to the foreign agent law that they are now able to apply to anyone who opposes the government.

Individuals (Russian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons) also can be declared "foreign agent" for their political activity. Political activity is defined as any influence to public opinion including publications in social media and public policy including a sending a requests and petitions. Receiving funding from foreign sources is optional - it's quite enough to "carry out activity in favour" of foreign and international authorities, organizations, citizens and stateless persons. Individuals declared "foreign agent" are obliged to make special reporting and are deprived of the right to hold public office.
And the exact same laws are in force in the USA. So what's your point ?

See Above. You should know better.
Your association with BS reminds me of a poem:
How well do I remember, it was just this past December,
I was walking down the street in manly pride
When my heart began to flutter, and I fell into the gutter,
and a pig came up and lay down by my side
As I lay there in the gutter, with my heart still in a flutter,
a lady passing by began to say
'You can tell a man who boozes, by the company he chooses'
And the pig got up, and slowly walked away

That will never happen see above.
It will never happen eh ? Russia said in 2007 , that there would be war if Georgia or Ukraine were going to join NATO. And since then , there has been 2 wars.

See above. Then he posts a poem

    How Rich is Vladimir Putin?

Kremlin nets £20 BILLION bonanza as gas bills soar

The Russian state has netted £20 billion this year from its financial interest in the country’s gigantic gas supplier Gazprom as energy prices and household bills in Britain have soared to critical levels.
Russia, which has been accused of worsening the crisis by cutting gas exports despite frenzied global demand, owns half of the gas producer which has boasted of ‘one of the most successful years’ ever as demand surged.
Famil Sadygov, deputy chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, declared in an interview with Gazprom Magazine posted on the company’s website just days ago: ‘According to our projections, our revenues are going to break a record in 2021.
The best previous result, which was reached in 2018 at 8.2 trillion roubles (£81.3 billion), will be confidently surpassed.

As a result the share price has soared 63 per cent this year. This has pushed up the value of the Kremlin’s stake by about £15 billion.
Gazprom has promised its shareholders a bumper dividend of more than a trillion rubles – £4.5 billion of which will go to the Kremlin – ‘a record figure not only for Gazprom, but for the entire stock market of Russia as well’, the gas giant added.
The sense of jubilation at Gazprom will provide little comfort in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
The energy crunch has landed European countries with soaring prices amid elevated demand, with claims that President Vladimir Putin’s policies are hitting household bills – an accusation denied by Putin.
In the UK, energy companies have said that bills could double to £2,000 this year without government intervention.
The Resolution Foundation think-tank last week warned of a ‘cost of living catastrophe’ with household expenditure poised to rise by £1,200 a year, with about half of that being added to energy bills, and the remainder a result of other costs including inflation and tax squeezes.
Gazprom is the largest exporter of natural gas to the European market. It supplies a third of Europe’s needs, but the company has drastically cut its exports in the last 12 months and supplies are lower than they have been since 2016.
From 2016 to 2020, the average of Russian pipeline gas supply per year was 218 billion cubic yards. But analysts at price reporting agency Icis are expecting the 2021 supply to be in the region of 183 billion cubic yards.

Analysts say Gazprom has simply not supplied enough gas to meet the demand from the rest of Europe.
‘This tells you that we are relying too heavily on Russia,’ said Henning Gloystein, director of energy, climate and resources at Eurasia Group. ‘Russian exports are at multi-year lows.
‘The question is whether they can’t or that they don’t want to [export more gas]. Neither are good.’

Russia and Gazprom have continuously denied claims that the company is not supplying enough gas to Europe and have insisted that it continues to fulfil all of its contractual obligations to consumers. Putin publicly described the accusations as ‘lies’ a fortnight ago.
Analysts acknowledge that the reduced flow of gas from Russia is just one of the issues disrupting the global supply of energy.
Other problems include higher industrial and retail consumption, Covid-related production hurdles and lower gas storage capacities in many countries.
However, there are fears that Putin is using the energy crisis to his geopolitical advantage. At the heart of these concerns is the controversial Russian pipeline, Nord Stream 2.
The 745-mile pipeline project, which runs from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea, is still awaiting regulatory approval from the West.
Some observers claim gas supplies have been deliberately held back in an attempt to get the pipeline rubber-stamped.
James Huckstepp, managing analyst at S&P Global Platts, highlighted Russia’s influence over Europe’s energy market when he said: ‘Russian flows through Europe are 30 per cent lower than the three-year average.’
Huckstepp added that Europe’s wholesale energy prices could fall by about 50 per cent if Russia increased its gas flows this winter.
But the question of whether Russia can do so remains unanswered, particularly as Gazprom must fill its storage facilities in preparation for the worst of the winter.
Thomas Rodgers, European gas analyst at Icis, said: ‘There’s not a lot of transparency about what has happened in Russia.
‘Some people say Russia is holding back supply to get Nord Stream 2 finished. But it is important to understand that Russia has had its own issues in terms of [prioritising] the domestic market.’

Leaders of Russia, China, US, UK, France adopt joint statement on preventing nuclear war

Leaders of five nuclear powers pointed out that as nuclear use would have far-reaching consequences, they affirm that "nuclear weapons - for as long as they continue to exist - should serve defensive purposes, deter aggression, and prevent war"

    3 Jan, 22:46

"Leaders of Russia, the United Kingdom, China, the United States and France have released a joint statement on preventing a nuclear war and avoiding arms races, according to the document published on the Kremlin website on Monday. "The People’s Republic of China, the French Republic, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America consider the avoidance of war between Nuclear-Weapon States and the reduction of strategic risks as our foremost responsibilities," the joint statement says.

"We affirm that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought," it reads.

Against further spread of nuclear weapons

Leaders of five nuclear powers pointed out that as nuclear use would have far-reaching consequences, they affirm that "nuclear weapons - for as long as they continue to exist - should serve defensive purposes, deter aggression, and prevent war."

"We believe strongly that the further spread of such weapons must be prevented," said the leaders of the nuclear powers and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
"We reaffirm the importance of addressing nuclear threats and emphasize the importance of preserving and complying with our bilateral and multilateral non-proliferation, disarmament, and arms control agreements and commitments," the document says.

In particular, the major nuclear powers "remain committed to our Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) obligations, including our Article VI obligation ‘to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control’."

    Not targeted at each other

"We each intend to maintain and further strengthen our national measures to prevent unauthorized or unintended use of nuclear weapons. We reiterate the validity of our previous statements on de-targeting, reaffirming that none of our nuclear weapons are targeted at each other or at any other State," the five leaders assured.

The joint statement underlines their "desire to work with all states to create a security environment more conducive to progress on disarmament with the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons with undiminished security for all."

"We intend to continue seeking bilateral and multilateral diplomatic approaches to avoid military confrontations, strengthen stability and predictability, increase mutual understanding and confidence, and prevent an arms race that would benefit none and endanger all. We are resolved to pursue constructive dialogue with mutual respect and acknowledgment of each other’s security interests and concerns," the statement emphasizes.

    NTP Review Conference

The Tenth Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was scheduled for January 2022, but was postponed to a later date over the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. At the end of 2021, Kyodo reported citing diplomatic sources that the conference may be held on August 1-26, 2022.

The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, also called Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, was signed in 1968. It made the nuclear arsenals of the United Kingdom, Russia, China, France, and the United States legal, confirming their status as nuclear-weapon states. Other states agree to "forgo developing or acquiring nuclear weapons." The treaty has been signed by more than 190 countries.

India, Pakistan, and Israel remain outside the treaty. In January 2003, North Korea withdrew from it."

    Excellent news.

Altough not a formal legal Treaty, some of the items highligted are allegedly covered with the Russian's recent demands to Nagastan which may now be more difficult for the NaGastan government to ignore.

In addition Iran, as a signitory of The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, has publically announced/reminded some unexceptional countries, that it will not obtain nuclear weapons, srengthening their position regarding JCPOA negotiations.

    Russian diplomatic maneavours strike again.

Moscow'''s Pacification - by Anatoly Karlin - Powerful Takes

Moscow's Murder Rate Now Lower Than "Prestigious" London's

For the first time possibly since the late Middle Ages (for Britain had embarked on “pacification” - the vertical reduction of homicide rates, by dint of increasing state capacity, genetic selection, or both - centuries earlier than Russia), Moscow will very likely have a lower homicide rate this year (2021) than London. London had 1.5/100k murders in 2018, the last year for which we have population estimates; on current trends, it should finish up at around 1.4/100k this year (possibly more, if Corona-era projections of population decline are accurate). Moscow registered either 1.6/100k homicides [Rosstat] or 1.4/100k homicides [Prosecutor-General] in 2020. In the year to date (to August), the number of homicides has fallen by 21%. Either way, at somewhere around 1.1-1.3/100k, Moscow’s homicide rate is now lower than “prestigious” London’s.

The spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Seyyed Rouhollah Latifi pointed to the upcoming visit of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi to Russia and the Russian Federation is one of Iran's important neighbors and the development of trade, economic and political relations between the two countries is very important.

Latif said that with the increase of political relations, the trade relations between the two countries have increased in recent years.

Vladimir Putin is probably the most popular Russian leader there has ever been, polling up around a phenomenal 80% as recently as November 2015 in a study carried out by a team of American researchers. This makes him inarguably the most popular world leader today, though you would think the opposite given the way he’s routinely depicted and demonized in the West.Putin came to power in 1999, when Russia had experienced almost a decade of chaos following the demise of the Soviet Union. He is a national savior and hero, a man, sober and exceptionally smart, who stepped from shadows to resuscitate a proud country that others had run aground, looted, and left for dead.
