Sounds like he might have had the wrong cup of tea....

A member of Pussy Riot is in a critical condition in hospital 'after losing his sight and ability to move' amid fears he has been poisoned.
According to report on Russian website Medusa, Peter (Pyotr) Verzilov was allegedly taken to hospital on Tuesday after he "began to lose his sight, speech and the ability to move around".
In July, Peter, along with Veronika Nikulshina, Olga Kuracheva and Olga Pakhtusova ran onto the field during the final of the World Cup in Moscow wearing police uniforms.
They were arrested following the stunt which hit headlines across the globe.
Peter was reportedly taken to the Bakhrushin City Clinical Hospital in Sokolniki and is said to be in 'a critical condition'.

I could have told them that. Just find out who gave him his last cup of tea.

The Pussy Riot activist Pyotr Verzilov who fell ill in Moscow was almost certainly poisoned, German doctors treating him in Berlin said on Tuesday, adding that he may have been the victim of an unknown “anticholinergic agent”.It was “highly probable” Verzilov’s dramatic symptoms – which include amnesia, loss of vision and being unable to walk or talk – were externally induced, the doctors said.

I see Vlad has arrested his nemesis again.

Russia’s most prominent opposition leader, Alexey Navalny, was released from jail and then immediately arrested again on charges of calling for unsanctioned protests.

Navalny was met by police officers at the door of a Moscow detention center as he stepped out of jail Monday after serving a 30-day sentence for organizing an unauthorized rally.

He was immediately taken to a police station where he was again charged again with organizing an unsanctioned demonstration, his spokeswoman, Kira Yarmish
    wrote on Twitter.

Navalny now faces a fine and potentially another 20 days in jail, Yarmysh wrote. He is due in court later.

Navalny, 42, has become the best-known face of Russia's anti-Putin opposition and has been arrested regularly as he and his supporters have staged demonstrations protesting a lack of political freedom and alleged corruption under president Vladimir Putin.

Navalny was arrested the last time in August shortly after he called for nationwide protests against a reform to raise Russia’s pension age. He was jailed then on charges relating to a demonstration organized eight months previously in January close to Red Square.

Police at the time said it had taken them until August to charge Navalny because they had been unable to locate him, despite the fact that he had spent much of May in police custody after being detained for a different demonstration held on the eve of Putin’s inauguration for a fourth term as president.

Navalny has said the arrests are intended to disrupt his protest activity. He has spent 172 days in detention since 2011, according to his spokeswoman, Yarmysh.

Most recently, Navalny has been calling for protests against the controversial pension reform that has attracted unusual public discontent in Russia and which has taken a toll on Putin’s approval rating, which dropped from close to 80 percent in May to 67 percent in July, according to an independent polling agency, the Levada Center.

Navalny’s supporters have staged a number of relatively large anti-Kremlin demonstrations across Russia in recent years, which are usually broken up by police. He has built a grassroots following, particularly among younger Russians, in part through video investigations into the alleged ill-gotten wealth of senior officials.

Two weeks ago, one of the subjects of these investigations, the head of Russia’s National Guard, Viktor Zolotov released a video address in which he challenged Navalny
to a duel and promised to make “a juicy beefsteak” of him after the activist alleged there was large-scale corruption in the organisation under Zolotov.

The Kremlin has said Navalny's protests violate a law requiring rallies to be authorized and has called Navalny a criminal.

Navalny was sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence in 2013 on fraud charges that he says are trumped up and designed to prevent him running for office. The conviction was used in 2018 to bar him from taking part in this year's presidential election.

^Again! Obviously his previous incarceration and torture didn't work. Time for some waterboarding methinks. Other Western/Asian legal officers swear by the information and change of attitude gained by such "re-education" of the masses and ex-political leaders.

Let's look at the draconian new laws this filthy tyrant is bringing in to further silence any meaningful opposition.

Two New Laws Will Take Back Much That Putin Appeared To Give n Decriminalizing Internet Posts – OpEd

    October 6, 2018Paul Goble 0 Comments
    By Paul Goble

In eight days, two new laws will go into effect that introduce serious civil fines and even imprisonment for individuals and groups who don’t obey judicial orders to stop distributing information the government finds offensive, thus reversing the “softening” of the anti-extremist laws for which Vladimir Putin has been given so much credit.

The texts of the laws which go into effect on October 13 now have been published in the government’s Rossiiskaya gazeta (rg.ru/2018/10/04/fz348-dok.html), but they haven’t received as much attention as Putin’s announcement. Viktor Kuznetsov’s commentary on Versiya is an exception (versia.ru/v-rossii-uzhestochat-nakazanie-za-otkaz-prekratit-rasprostranenie-informacii).

The Versiya writer makes it clear that both individuals and media outlets who run afoul of their provisions face enormous fines, potential detention, compulsory work for the good of the community, and even up to one year in prison if they continue to distribute materials Russian courts object to.

Among the kinds of posts that would potentially run afoul of these new measures are those that courts say distribute “illegal” or “unreliable” information, a potentially expansive category that could be used to go after all those who now run afoul of the anti-extremism laws Putin has “softened” and more besides.

What is particularly concerning, Kuznetsov says, is that the new laws apply “not only to citizens but also to the media, one of the chief distributors of information on the Internet.” Those courts hold to be in violation of their orders will find it difficult to defend themselves. And that will have a chilling effect on them as well as on individuals going on line.

That is because the new laws specify that anyone or any institution that doesn’t stop distributing information courts object to “within the course of a single day” face the threat of being blocked and entered into a government list as someone distributing “prohibited information.”

The Results of the Mongolian Leader Attending the 4th Eastern Economic Forum

    How dangerous is Vladimir Putin?-5544-jpg

    "
As you might know, the 4th Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok on September 13, 2018, led by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. It saw the participation of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, the South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, the Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga and other officials.

The Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga arrived in Vladivostok on September 11 and plunged into the work of the Forum straight away where he had rather fruitful bilateral negotiations with Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Shinzō Abe and other participants.

On September 11, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe paid a visit to the Mongolian President. It was their second encounter at the Eastern Economic Forum.

At the beginning of their meeting, the Mongolian President expressed his condolences to the Japanese people in connection with the recent natural disaster, an unprecedented flood in a number of Japanese prefectures, and his willingness to provide assistance and support. The parties exchanged opinions on developing their economic cooperation in the framework of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). “Mongolia is interested,” said K. Battulga, “in electricity supply for creating a super network in Northeast Asia and in expanding our cooperation in such areas as tourism, agriculture and building an ecocity.”

Shinzō Abe supported the initiatives of his Mongolian counterpart and discussed with him the operation issues of the recently built New Ulaanbaatar International Airport in the Khöshig Valley in the vicinity of Ulaanbaatar that is currently at the opening stage. The Japanese Premier also advocated the development of tourism by specific planning, increasing the meat import from Mongolia and, naturally, the development of cooperation in ensuring security in the region.

On September 12, the Presidents of Russia and Mongolia exchanged their opinions on a wide range of issues of their bilateral cooperation to the fullest extent. They expressed their mutual satisfaction with meeting in the Far East again and emphasised the great significance of such meetings for intensifying their bilateral cooperation.

During their meeting, K. Battulga mentioned his suggestion made in 2017 on resuming the 1993 Agreement On friendly relations and cooperation between the Russian Federation and Mongolia and signing it for an indefinite period of time.
He also discussed the issue of activating the interaction between the 2 countries’ National Security Councils and suggested adopting a revised cooperation plan concerning the regional security.

Battulga said that Mongolia was analysing the opportunity for building a port in the Far East and was preparing certain appropriate offers to that effect, including the initiative for creating a joint working group for activating the implementation of the Mongolia – Russia – China Economic Corridor establishment programme. Furthermore, the Mongolian leader expressed an idea for cooperation in organising an electrical super network in Northeast Asia and handed the study of the economic feasibility of this initiative over to Vladimir Putin.

Vladimir Putin expressed his satisfaction with the positive development of the Russian – Mongolian relations in all the areas and reiterated his commitment to the further activation of the bilateral cooperation in the spheres of agriculture, railways and defence. The Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed his support of building a gas pipeline from Russia to China via Mongolia which Mongolia worked hard to achieve for many years at all the 4 trilateral summits between Russia, Mongolia and China, as well as at other forums.

One may consider that this marked the greatest achievement of the negotiations that took place here, especially, for Mongolia, since the coming gasification of Mongolia is to resolve the issues of air and water cleaning and heating for the ger districts in Ulaanbaatar.

A large loan of 100 m roubles that, according to Vladimir Putin, “is currently being negotiated” would be very beneficial to the country as well. As both Presidents stated during their speeches, “it will go to developing and modernising the Ulaanbaatar railways and thermal power plants.”

The parties agreed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Battles of Khalkhin Gol in 2019, organise a joint exhibition, produce a feature film and a documentary and publish a book. K. Battulga invited V. Putin to visit Mongolia for the celebration next year.On September 12, the Mongolian President K. Battulga also met the Chinese President Xi Jinping who participated in the Eastern Economic Forum with a big delegation for the first time.

During the negotiations, the Mongolian President K. Battulga advocated building an electrical super network in Northeast Asia, developing the cooperation in building the trans-Mongolian gas pipeline, implementing the projects for establishing the Mongolia – Russia – China Economic Corridor and made a number of concrete initiatives, in particular, on increasing the export of agricultural products, mainly meat, to China.

Xi Jinping supported these suggestions and expressed his willingness to cooperate proactively in the trade and economic sphere in order to make the balance of trade between the 2 countries increase from the current $6.7 bn to $10 bn by 2020. The issues of cooperation in the areas of railways, processing industry, ensuring the security in the region, etc. were discussed.

Battulga was invited to pay an official visit to China on the occasion of the 2nd summit of the Belt and Road Initiative in the first quarter of 2019.The leaders of the 2 countries exchanged opinions concerning the event organisation issues in the framework of the coming 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the development of frontier cooperation in October 2018.Apart from the meetings of the state leaders, K. Battulga had one with the Russian Minister of Sport Pavel Kolobkov. The Russian and Mongolian parties exchanged their experience in promoting mass sports and national sports development. They also discussed the issues of the preparation work Mongolia needs to do for holding the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games in 2020 that have been held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee and the UNESCO every 4 years since 1996.

These competitions were held in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as it was the originator of the idea.
The Children of Asia International Sports Games are a large scale project that requires a very responsible approach. For instance, in 2016, about 3,000 young athletes from 36 countries took part in the competitions. “We are willing to provide consulting for Mongolia in organising the competitions,” said P. Kolobkov. As we can see, the Eastern Economic Forum has become a platform for new encounters and rapprochement between the Presidents of Russia, Mongolia and China, and the negotiations between them gave a new impulse to the development of not only bilateral, but also trilateral cooperation."

Putin: Trade between Russia & India will reach $30bn by 2025

Signing S-400 deal & defying US: #Putin heads to New Delhi to meet Indian PM https://on.rt.com/9fqv

The volume of trade between Russia and India exceeded $9 billion last year and is set to grow further with the nations aiming to boost trade and encourage investments, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We have set a target of increasing trade turnover to $30 billion... and increasing investments to $15 billion by 2025,” Putin said during a press conference with Modi on Friday. The Russian president is in India on a two-day official visit.

Putin said the expansion of trade and investment interactions is a priority for both nations. He noted that “if we move at such pace, we will reach the target ahead of time and will continue expansion."

Statistics showed trade between Russia and India increased by 20 percent in the period January to July, amounting to more than $6 billion.

Last month, New Delhi suggested setting up a special economic zone for Russian companies. Earlier, the two countries discussed creating a ‘green corridor’ for the smooth transit of goods. They want to create a list of entrepreneurs or companies whose goods will be exempt from regular customs inspections.

US Senators Introduce Bill to Combat "Russian Energy Dominance" in Europe

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - US Senators Chris Murphy and Ron Johnson said in a press release on Wednesday that they have introduced the European Energy Security and Diversification Act to provide new tools for the United States to combat what they characterize is malign Russian influence as well as create economic opportunities at home and abroad.

"Russia uses its dominance of the energy market, along with bribery, corruption and propaganda to undermine Western institutions and install pliant governments that are unable or unwilling to counter Russia or its president, Vladimir Putin," the release said. "The European Energy Security and Diversification Act will authorize $1 billion in US financing for European energy projects that, paired with increased diplomatic and technical support, will help diversify Europe’s energy supply and decrease Russia’s hold on the region."

The senators said Russia is doing everything it can to gain power over countries in its periphery.
"We’ve rightly invested billions to shore up military defenses in Eastern Europe, but let’s not forget the equally dangerous implications of Russia’s energy stranglehold on Europe," Murphy said. "Vladimir Putin gets away with a lot because so much of Europe relies on Russia for energy."

Murphy explained that by helping US allies secure new sources of energy and contribute to strategically important projects, Washington "can help break Putin’s grip on Europe and create jobs here in the US."

The release said the bill authorizes the US Trade and Development Agency and other agencies to support US private sector investment in strategically important energy projects in Central and Eastern Europe from fiscal year 2019 to 2023.

Projects include natural gas infrastructure such as interconnectors, storage facilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facilities and reverse flow capacity, according to the release.
