He's right. Operation freedom created a lot of prosperity. That was the plan after all.

This is the type of simplistic American thinking that combined with ignorance causes so many problems.

1 week to find out but I'm betting China will as who supplies a greater % of Chinas energy needs, Russia or the US??? plus China as much as Russia would like to see the end of $ dominance. As always with US foreign policy it's always done with no foresight as to the consequences, while this deal if it happens won't kill the $ in itself it will set a precedent that others will follow and the $ decline will gather momentum.

China and Russia are enemies. Not likely at all they would join their forces against US(D). China lives and thrives on this economic model.

China has been selling US debt and accumulating gold and they would like to see a 'dedollarised' world as much as Russia and many others. The US fuked up in supporting the overthrowing of the elected government in Ukraine and totally miscalculated what Russia's response would be and they still continue to do so with their childish sanctions think that their will be no response. Who do you think is going to end up backing down Obama or Putin???

Yes, Putin is way harder and can literally f up some soft left politician. But that does not make it right, and Obama is not the US.

There is a hell of a lot more of it since the invasion. Saddam was secular and kept the fundamentalists in check. America's biggest mistake in the war was disbanding the Iraqi army.

Not in dispute. But who gave him those weapons? The effects of using depleted uranium tipped shells by the U.S. will cause a lot more deaths in the long run by ten fold.
Do you even understand the concept of "false pretenses", and the different , usually dangerous, results that can come from them?
Why Americans, (who are some of the nicest people I've ever met), can not see that their tax dollars are being robbed from them by greedy neo-cons for nefarious purposes, boggles my mind. And they complain when a mere fraction of the cost of the neo-con agenda is requested to treat their genuinely destitute and unfortunate countrymen.

There is truth in this, but then how to hold them in check and keep their objectivity as well while cooperating with the allied forces.

Who says we don't see it? The problem isn't seeing it, it's finding one credible candidate to overcome it, and then putting them into office against all of the well healed opposition to said candidate and then once they're in office preventing them from becoming neutered during their term, not at all a difficult task ..

The BBC suggests that a meeting held yesterday, by the OSCE, was a success, even though the lack of any representatives from the Eastern part of Ukraine, who were not there. Seems to them, quite acceptable

Meanwhile the Russian Foreign Minister spends 45 minutes talking to a reporter on video.
