    Republican Cokehead

Republican congressman Trey Radel admits cocaine charge

A Republican congressman has been sentenced to one year's probation after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

First-term Florida Representative Trey Radel, 37, learned his fate at a Washington DC court.

The father of one said he was "disappointed" with himself. He had faced a maximum sentence of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 (£620) fine.
Radel admitted purchasing 3.5g (0.12oz) of the drug from an undercover agent on 29 October.
BBC News - Republican congressman Trey Radel admits cocaine charge

OK, let's take a quick look at some of the hypocrisy going on here....

    1. at the same time that this guy is trying to pass legislation that requires drug tests for economically disadvantaged americans to receive food stamps, he's buying an eight ball of coke.

    2. the republican majority leader has said the GOP has a "zero tolerance policy" with regard to ethical and legal transgressions.....yet no move has been made to get this cokehead to resign from office.

the GOP is not fit to govern.

oh, btw, here's his lame excuse/apology that he posted on his facebook page...

I'm profoundly sorry to let down my family, particularly my wife and son, and the people of Southwest Florida. I struggle with the disease of alcoholism, and this led to an extremely irresponsible choice. As the father of a young son and a husband to a loving wife, I need to get help so I can be a better man for both of them.
In facing this charge, I realize the disappointment my family, friends and constituents must feel. Believe me, I am disappointed in myself, and I stand ready to face the consequences of my actions.

However, this unfortunate event does have a positive side. It offers me an opportunity to seek treatment and counseling. I know I have a problem and will do whatever is necessary to overcome it, hopefully setting an example for others struggling with this disease.

Please keep my family in your prayers.
so, he's placing the blame for being a coke fiend on the fact that he's an alcoholic.

maybe this guy should be the next mayor of toronto.

MSNBC's Schultz Only Hates Drugs When Republicans Use Them

Schultz claims he'd be fired for drug use, ignores Sharpton's alleged drug deal..

It's not a matter of hating drugs or bringing up "alleged" deals.

The point is, Raydel was campaigning for people to be drug tested in order to get benefits, while he doing drugs and getting paid working for the federal government.

This is something that has always baffled me about "conservatives." So many rage on about the immorality of others who admit or understand human shortcomings, while engaging in the same immoral behavior themselves, but never can admit it.

he's admitted in a court of law that he bought and used cocaine...which is a felony.

why haven't house republicans demanded that this cokehead resign?

so much for their 'zero tolerance policy'.

Who cares what Obama has done. He's liberal and much more open to drugs. Aren't you ashamed of the lying sacks of crap in your party who constantly praise the lord and the rest of it then end up getting caught and turned into hypocrites? Boonme, it's almost certain that what you claim to be is not what you really are simply because you are a republican. Now, go take that dress off and start living like a man.

So why are you supporting all these hypocritical fools in the GOP? You should watch Realtime with Bill Maher. He's a Liberal/Libertarian mix. I think his show is on after Hee Haw so there shouldn't be a conflict there.

    it's so pathetic, isn't it?

republicans completely destroy their brand with the global financial crisis and two failed wars in the ME....and suddenly they're all 'tea party members'.

now that the 'tea party members' have proven that they're unable to win state wide office in swing states, suddenly they're all 'libertarians'.

i'd wager that after the 2014 midterms they try to go old school with the next meaningless name change .....suddenly they'll all be 'conservatives'.

no link handy, but a whig recently won a special election somewhere in the US.

i'm fairly certain it was on the state (or perhaps county) level, but they might be ready for a national comeback!

Libertarians are silly. They really have no concept of how humans act in the real world which might be why so many Asperger's sufferers are libertarians.
Libertarianism is autism expressed as a political philosophy.

They are actually bigger arseholes than the republicans. At least with the GOP, fucking over the poor is just cynical opportunism, with libertarians it's a god-damned religious belief.

so much for the GOP's zero tolerance policy, eh?

Despite an eventful two months that saw an undercover cocaine bust and a stint in drug rehab, Florida Rep. Trey Radel (R) doesn’t sound like a man who is going to resign.

On the same day he walked out of a Naples, Fla., drug rehabilitation clinic, the freshman congressman — who pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine in November — said he is wrestling with what he describes as a problem with alcohol, and added that he loves “serving” his southwest Florida constituents.

    Heh...double-standard, hypocrisy-infested Democrats:

In his precocious 1995 autobiography "Dreams From My Father," Mr. Obama told of how he did "a little blow, when [i] could afford it" (page 93 of the 2004 paperback edition).

btw, NY Dem Pol Accused of Sexual Harassment of Young Female Staffers

Move over, Vito “Gropez” — yet another Albany politician has been accused of outlandish sexual harassment by young female staffers.
Married-with-children Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak, 62, tormented three workers with lewd antics such as sending a video of himself supposedly receiving oral sex, suggesting they shack up with him in hotels and talking about a tattoo on his penis, new court documents charge.
“I got a boner when I walked into the office today when I saw you,” the seven-year assemblyman allegedly drooled to his then-director of communications, Anna[at]lise C. Freling, 28, last year at a governor’s event, according to court papers filed Thursday.
“You’re so hot, you know what I want to do with you,” he allegedly said.

Doing it while being elected to service America is the key point which passed over your head.
You would had heard the swish sound if your brain hadn't filtered it out as part of the normal ambience.

    double standards and hypocrisy?

    you
    have
    got
    to
    be
    kidding.

....this cokehead is the guy who tried to pass legislation to have mandatory drug tests for people receiving food stamps.....and he likely had cocaine in his system when he voted for this legislation.

and btw, comparing a teenager experimenting with drugs to a sitting US congressman busted by the FBI and DEA......lame

january 5th, and this cokehead still hasn't resigned.

what about the GOP's zero tolerance policy? suddenly that doesn't matter anymore?

btw, all that blow this GOP congressman bought in the FBI sting would have been a felony in his home district in florida.

good thing he was doing all that coke while he was allegedly working for his constituents in DC.

Why are you trying to move the spotlight of this thread from Republican congressman Trey Radel to others?
Pointing out that there are also corrupt democrats changes nothing.
Why aren't you baracking to get rid of this this guy?
he's making your party look bad.
