media bias and the Republican T.V. debate

Last week's Republican debate on MSNBC was a fairly boring affair, 10 buttoned-up white guys in suits spending 90 minutes trying to be Ronald Reagan. The amazing thing was the lack of publicity for the man who may have won the debate, at least according to MSNBC's own watchers poll. The poll result could barely be found on MSNBC itself. Is it only a coincidence that the only anti-war and anti-IRS candidate got virtually no press coverage despite surprisingly good polling results? This looks like blatant media bias. (the below poll in its entirety was and, hopefully, still is at Vote on the California Republican debate - The Debates - MSNBC.com )

How long before Ron Paul is 'suicided?'

    ______________________________

The very same press that is ignoring Ron Paul's win in this debate, is the same press that is ignoring the myriad of facts about the truth of 9/11, the black on white crime, the immigration downside, the devastation of the family through the family legal system and divorce, the facts surrounding the alleged holocaust, the attack on the USS Liberty, the spying by Israelis, and a host of other important historical events and issues.

They choose what topics are important and only report on them. In other words, they try to brainwash us. Too bad they are so successful so much of the time.

You might be missing the point. While the debates are boring, the media's ability to filter out candidates is frightening. They'll choose 'acceptable' candidates like Romney, McCain and Guiliani. Then they'll ignore or slander any candidate who doesn't buy into their world view. Is it real democracy when we are already filtered down to 2-3 corporate centrists in each party before the voting even starts?

    It was embarrassing !

Whether ABC purposely left Cong. Ron Paul out of their poll, or whether they're just so arrogant that they just assumed that they know who the candidates are, or should be, they got a cold slap in the face the other day.

After deciding to ignore the 800 pound gorilla on the debate the other night, they thought by not including Mr. Paul in their 'poll', they could steer the results in the direction they wanted.

    Wrong !

It didn't take long ! Pretty soon the net erupted and they were swamped with calls and emails demanding that Ron Paul be included.
Well it didn't take ABC long to figure it out, they knew they were busted. They then did the only thing they could, they scrambled to get out in front of it by quickly including him in the list which resulted in these results ! View Here !

Now given that some Paul supporters may have voted more then once, though I believe cookies were dropped to prevent this, that's one hell of a lot of votes !

Even using MSNBC's own numbers, it was a blowout ! View Here !
Ron Pauls amazing come from behind win on the debate embarrassed the bought and paid for media whores so badly that they went into overdrive trying to bury this story.

It would seem like ABC is learning a valuable lesson that DIGG.com just recently learned about modern day America. Americans talk back. And when enough of us talk back and say the same thing, they listen. If they don't listen, we tell the world. Then they listen.

..........I wouldn't want to be Ron Paul. I've heard that he has some real concerns about his safety should he become a serious contender. And I must admit that we as a country don't have a great record when it come to protecting our leaders when they don't go along with the Bankers and other corporate Godfathers."

The Alaska Intel Report: 'The Net' shoves Ron Paul right down ABC's throat !

Don't focus on the debates themselves, focus in on how the media is treating Ron Paul, then it's interesting.

    Clear Media Conspiracy
    Against Ron Paul

    By Carl F. Worden
    5-8-7
"... (The) conspiracy to ignore and marginalize presidential candidate Ron Paul is not a theory. In this case, a jury would have to conclude a conspiracy against Dr. Paul by the corporation-controlled media exists. First, MSNBC reported that Ron Paul scored the highest positive votes in both Republican debates he attended. That means he beat out Romney, McCain and Giuliani. There was no mention of these poll results in the major media. Dick Morris, political pundit and former Clinton buddy, wrote an opinion piece that appeared in many media publications 5/7/07, in which he claimed John McCain had won the debate, and I could find nowhere in his piece that Ron Paul had even attended. CNN's Glenn Beck, an alleged conservative (my fanny) ran a tiny clip on his show that tried to make Ron Paul look like a blithering idiot. He then went on to ask, "How did this guy get in the debate at all"? Even WorldNetDaily, a prominent, conservative Internet news provider, has largely ignored Ron Paul's candidacy. When a candidate wins two debate polls in a row that are reported by the likes of MSNBC on its own web page, that is news, especially since the winner of both polls allegedly had no chance to win the nomination. The media normally jumps on that kind of news, because people in America love underdogs, but not this time. No, this is a concerted effort."http://www.rense.com/general76/paul.htm

How did all these people find out about Ron Paul?

    Perhaps, through the media?

Can't read too well can ya toots? The MSNBC poll was on the internet. And my quote which you quoted says:
Pretty soon the net erupted .......

And the quote I posted said this:

"There was no mention of these poll results in the major media."

"Dick Morris, political pundit and former Clinton buddy, wrote an opinion piece that appeared in many media publications ...."

"CNN's Glenn Beck, an alleged conservative (my fanny) ran a tiny clip on his show that tried to make Ron Paul look like a blithering idiot."

"The media normally jumps on that kind of news, because people in America love underdogs, but not this time."

Well, Glen Beck's CNN producers shafted him with the Mickey Mouse/Pali story as he is too conservative. MSM doesn't want to cover the 'controversial' report of MM being used for training suicide bombers.

BTW kereux - what's with the large fonts?

I found out about him because his writings at antiwar.com . The point is that the major corporate media ignores people who don't accept their world view. 1968 presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy said that the Soviets jailed their dissidents and that the USA did something worse, we ignored them.

I just heard a sound bite or two on the BBC "Osama's gunna be caught and he's gunna die" (Mitt, I think) and " I hate abortion" (Rudy)

    Echos of Ronnie indeed.
