Someone should do a list of how much these people receive from the Health Care industry.
I'd like to see who's top of that list.

^ that information is surely available somewhere.
and if i had to guess, i'd say republicans are taking about 2/3 to 3/4 of all the money given by the health care industry....and you can bet it's a lot of money.
You can look that information up here.

Can you elaborate on that point? It is the house who must submit the funding bill they are out of line to try to extort the president to delay a law that was passed four years ago. That has nothing to do with funding the government. So how can you logically explain that?Originally Posted by Boon Mee
So you are claiming that it was Democrats who put up those barriers? The way I see it is the idiots in the house who are dumb. It is looking like the nation is already turning their backs on them.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

Multimillionaire Republican lawmaker says government shutdown ‘is my idea of fun’

As 800,000 federal employees were set to be furloughed due to a government shutdown on Tuesday, a Republican lawmaker with a net worth of around $6 million was positively cheerful about the situation, telling NPR that it was his “idea of fun.”

Well, don't forget, dude, this shutdown belongs to Obama 100%
It is not the disaster that the clowns claim it to be. The disaster is that 750,000 Federal workers can be sent home until the clowns barter a deal which has nothing to do with the economy and everything to do with politics and self interest, after which the workers wil be whistled back into their cosy jobs in a bloated and exponentially growing bureaucracy that every admin in my lifetime has made a big beef about trimming.
Complete nonsense Boontard and you well know it.
Your beloved Tea Party has tried and failed over 40 times to defund or delay the health care law. These Tea Party Republicans are so obsessed with the idea of sabotaging Obamacare that they're willing to take the economy hostage to do it.
How disingenuous to blame President Obama when the budget bill never even made it to his desk. It is the refusal by congressional Republicans to send a clean bill to the Senate that has caused the shut down of the Federal Government.
Neither the Senate nor the President need to negotiate with the Tea Party terrorists over the Affordable Care Act. Do you know why?
As Jon Stewart put it so succinctly: "Obamacare is the F*cking Law!!"
Any first year political science college student. No matter how this shakes out the Republicans will be the culprit. Dems will make sure of that during the mid terms. Them low information voters will be out in force. About as many as got the Messiah elected I reckon. Expect GOP will lose big in mid terms. The RINOs know this but are unable to control the tea party element. Tea party folks will get reelected but GOP gonna lose the House and gain a few seats in Senate. Dem political strategists are getting an erection over the prospect. Dem Pres, Dem Senate and Dem House.Originally Posted by raycarey
Do I smell one last piece of legislation to really piss off the right? I do, I do. A small departing gift from the Messiah and Ms Pelosi, the new house speaker.

Bottom line is, if the GOP gets hammered at the mid-terms, this debacle will actually be a positive for the US. I guess that's up to the people.
