The way it's going, the spending bill is going to get passed bit by bit without ever stopping the ACA.

boehner failed yet again to control his caucus.

he's certainly the least effective speaker of the house in my lifetime.

    pathetic.

in jan 2011, boehner was elected speaker for the 112th congress.

The 112th Congress was the least productive since the clerk’s office started keeping track seven decades ago, and this current 113th Congress is on track to do even less.
House Republicans exhausted by failure | MSNBC

but you're probably thinking...hey, at the very least the GOP house is working hard to get things done, right?

    wrong.

from today until the end of the year, boehner's house will be in session for a total of 17 days.

17 days between now and dec. 31st....and keep in mind that house members make $174,000 per year.

boehner and the GOP are just not fit to govern.

well, i overestimated the work ethic of house repulicans.'

working a total of 17 days in the 2 months is far too much work for boehner and co.

As the schedule stands now, the House anticipates being in session eight days next month, after working seven days in November.
Congress seems to be done legislating for the year - Jake Sherman and Burgess Everett - POLITICO.com

    15 days in two months.

and the number 3 in house leadership had this to say:

Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy of California, the No. 3 House Republican, told activists last week that there isn’t enough time to complete immigration reform this year.
and conservatives/GOP/libertarians/tea baggers/etc... (or whatever they're calling themselves this month) wonder why latinos don't vote republican.

and for those who think this is a non-issue...well, it might be now....but come late summer/early fall, i think it could become a big issue leading into the midterms. the dems are going to pound on the GOP for the sequester cuts and govt. shutdown....and they'll also be pointing out that the republican controlled house works ~2 days/week. that probably won't compel conservatives to vote for someone with a (D) after their name, but it might keep them home on election day.

Never do that- they do not seek to contribute to government, only destroy it. Their concomitant vote shall be writ in stone, and a new generation of republicans left to agonise over it. As a democrat, why worry?
