New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez’s approval rating dropped 15 percentage points in less than a month, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday.
Menendez’s approval rating stands at 36 percent, with 41 percent of New Jersey voters disapproving. In late January, his approval rating was 51 percent, with 33 percent disapproving.

The Democrat has been battered by revelations about his ties to Saloman Melgen, a Florida doctor and campaign donor. The senator reimbursed Melgen more than $50,000 for two flights on his private jet, and also talked to officials from the State and Commerce departments and at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Melgen’s behalf.
The FBI is also investigating Menendez for allegedly visiting underage prostitutes while staying with Melgen in Florida, but the bureau has found little evidence so far, according to The Washington Post.
Only 28 percent of New Jerseyeans believe Menendez is honest and trustworthy, and 48 percent said the scandal makes them think less of the senator. Only 23 percent believe Menendez’s explanation that the allegations are politically motivated.

agreed. but i haven't seen any real evidence of corruption....lots of claims and inuendo, but no evidence.

and this 'underaged prostitute' thing appears to be completely unfounded and the worst type of smear campaign.....led by right-wing hack, tucker carlson.

i don't follow NJ politics closely, but i think he's got a better than even chance of surviving this....due in large part to the fact that he just won re-election 3 months ago.

and if he were forced to resign, i think NJ would just elect another dem....and it's also quite possible that christie would appoint a dem as the interim sen before the special election.

Agree, that looks like a smear without foundation. On the corruption charges I think the investigation should proceed and let the chips fall where they may.

now it's on tucker carlson's daily caller....eventually drudge will have a red siren on the top of his site....and then fox will run it repeatedly all day on every one of its programs....a couple of days later fox will start the "why is the mainstream media ignoring this scandal?" meme, which will cause reputable news outlets to start writing that fox news is reporting that menendez had sex with underage prostitutes.

mission accomplished...the story is in the mainstream media without any real evidence of wrong doing.

My guess is it was a set up, designed to draw attention to Menendez' association with this sleazy doctor- and also draw focus also on his questionable ethics in NJ state politics. Which it did, and I doubt Menendez can look forward to much upward mobility in federal politics because of it.
