Yet another stellar scandal, frenetically fuelled by the rabid right- absolutely gripping stuff. Am I to take it this is post-Benghazigate planning?

Robert Menendez is a classic 'success story' in noo joysey state politics, so unsurprisingly he's a sleazebag- and I'm not talking about his bonking habits. Questionable associations, questionable ethics, questionable tactics and string pulling activities. It is noteworthy that several publications at the 'quality' end of the blogosphere- salon and the atlantic, both libbie- have done a more effective hatchet job on him (certainly worked on me) than the rw blogosphere, preoccupied with the allegation of him bonking prostitutes below the age of 18- although this becomes transformed into salacious allegations of predatory paedophila on the prurient fever swamps.

This 'scandal' may (finally) have legs booner- I think there is stuff there. Otoh, Menendez is quite a big fish, certainly in joysey state politics, and a slippery one at that. At minimum, I think his senatorial ambitions will be severely curtailed- really, I don't know why a guy like that takes it to the national stage. I guess ambition gets the better of some people. I must however dampen your ardor in one regard. Effect on teflon barry = zero.
