One would assume the premise of Zeitgeist is to formulate complex ideas in a way that the general public can understand.
I've only watched the latest one myself. Tbh, I find the two hour conspiracy type docs to be information overkill.
They don't have Hollywood or CNN production values, because it's a new concept I guess, and that puts a lot of people off too.
This latest bi monthly effort by Joseph seems slicker and therefore far more accessible to the spoonfed masses.
Personally I think it's preaching to the already converted,
but the goal is to keep pushing the ideas forward so they can compete with the overwhelming 'official' version.
You think that's shit..? Ok.
The longer answer would possibly have been more insightful
I think with any media you have to sift through the information and correlate it with other sources before deciding on it's legitimacy, there are a lot of whackjobs out there that want to hop on the train of free publicity, but even mainstream sources are starting to follow the lead of the internet documentary makers, and information, such as the recent revelation that austerity in the UK has punished savers and benefited the already rich, is now part of the headline news.
And headline news being 4/5 on demand entertainment, it would seem that that the masses are waking up and do want this kind of information. Without the impetus of the internet pushing forward it's agenda, I don't think this would be the case.
