San Fransisco is notable to me for it's diversity- there are many more Silicon Valley yuppie types there than radical lesbians you know. And it's homeless problem, indeed. Union Square appalled me.

Last time I was on the Big Island all I got was the stare-down competition from the local mokes. He who breaks eye contact first loses. That was in the 80s maybe times have changed.
The lawn area in front of SF City Hall used to be a huge hobo camp complete with tents and porta-san toilets. They finally moved them out.
I work with this hippie chick from SF ( ganja and fishermans pants) and she is the most bossy demented twat you could ever imagine... If she is from the heart of "liberal" America God knows what the backwoods people are like
