read the whole story as it's not what it seems ...

SSM: Same-sex marriage sign sparks online 'pub brawl' in Hobart

The rollout of anti-same-sex marriage advertising in Tasmania has hit some hurdles, with one billboard removed and another
    starting an online "pub brawl".
Coalition for Marriage billboard advertising is being rolled out in the north and south of the state.

The advertisements carry the message: 'It's OK to say no', in support of a No vote.
One advertisement featuring on a digital billboard sits in a prominent position on the roof of an Elizabeth Street building housing The Winston (Pub).

It prompted the pub's owner, Caroline Kiehne, to post a clarification on its Facebook page explaining it was not backing the No vote.
"It's rented out by someone else to whoever wants to pay to advertise there," she said.

"A few of our regulars brought it [the No vote advertisement] to our attention and we thought it was our responsibility to let people
know just because it's on the building doesn't mean it has anything to do with our beliefs."

Despite the difference of opinion, Ms Kiehne does not want it removed.

"I'm an American originally, so I'm a firm believer in freedom of speech," she said.

    Here

I just hope that a nutter doesn't come along and try and burn the Pub down based on the Advertising.

Both the Yes and No Voters are going to need a drink once this is over
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

Please tell Looper about this fine example of enforced adaptation, with religious overtones.
with a gay parent breeding in the family, what are the chances of some social diversity in the offspring?

If I was forced and the preservation of the human race was in the balance and two lesbians were in the frame,

The same sex marriage amendment draft bill

A key concern in the debate over same sex marriage is the uncertainty about the bill that will be put to parliament if Australians vote Yes in the postal ballot now underway.

A common refrain from readers of The Australian is this: “show us the bill.”

This is central to the argument over whether the changes will threaten religious freedom, parental rights and freedom of speech. Australians with an interest in this debate want to be able to see the letter of the law.

That is why The Australian has posted a draft bill online. Here: https://theaustralianatnewscorpau.fi...-05-08-2-1.pdf

    2A Objects of this Act

It is an object of this Act to create a legal framework:

    (a) to allow civil celebrants to solemnise marriage, understood as the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life; and

    .
    .
    .

Edit: Because some will not be able to open the link above

This is the bill circulated to all federal Liberal MPs in early August when they met to agree on the postal vote. It is not a government bill. Even so, it is the leading option for debate if the Yes vote prevails.

This private member’s bill was prepared by Western Australian Liberal Senator Dean Smith and has the support of four of his colleagues in the lower house: Warren Entsch, Trent Zimmerman, Tim Wilson and Trevor Evans.

This draft has not been introduced into parliament. For that reason it cannot be found on the Parliament House website. It was distributed to MPs and the media instead. Of course, this goes to the reason for the postal survey in the first place. The government’s position is that it will only allow a bill to be introduced into parliament if Australians say Yes in the ballot.

Key dates in SSM postal survey:

    • August 24 — the final day to register with the AEC if you want to take part in the survey
    • September 12 — survey forms start being sent out
    • September 25 — all forms are expected to have been sent
    • October 27 — forms are strongly encouraged to be returned by this date
    • November 7 — the final deadline to return surveys
    • November 15 — results are released at 11:30am

In the interests of fairness, while Married and De-Facto are almost equal under the Law in Australia, there are some important differences.

This article outlines most of the important ones ...

Yes, a thousand years ago toppings of pizza did not include pineapple, thus it shunned should be. Indeed the whole significance of a pizza is diminished by its very existence.

But he didn't outline his rationale. Something to do with the genetic evolution of the pineapple makes it an unsuitable pair-bond with tomato because the two plants can not propagate together and thus if they did pair bond, both tomatoes and pineapples would quickly become extinct.
    Evolution 101.

I am not worried if people want to put pineapple on their dough, tomato and cheese based oven-baked dinner in the privacy of their own homes.

    Just don't call it pizza!

Fair enough, i have no problem with that.

But if ya can legally get married is it gona make such a huge difference in ya life. ?

You could always fly to a country that allows Gay Marriage and put a ring on it there. Have a holiday at the same time.

I know two shifters who have done just that and now live in NZ.
