Pattani Islamic Combat Training School Night Classes

Yea, this is headlined about Joke reassigning ten IO's to "inactive" posts - and as one comment said - they MUST be running out of Inactive Posts by now, but, it handily ignores the more important item concerning an, of course "alleged" Islamic Combat School in operation.

    Separatists or Jihad?

Ten immigration officers in Sa Kaeo and Pattani have been transferred to inactive posts pending a probe into alleged lax enforcement of immigration restrictions after a group of Cambodian people entered the country illegally last month.

In separate transfer orders signed by Immigration Bureau chief Surachate Hakparn last Wednesday, seven immigration officers in Sa Kaeo and three immigration officers in Pattani have been moved to the IB's operations center, deputy police spokesman Kritsana Pattanacharoen said yesterday. Two inquiry panels were set up to look into their alleged failure to control illegal immigration, the deputy police spokesman said. The move came after a combined force of military rangers, police and local governing officials raided an Islamic ponoh school in Pattani's Mayo district on Jan 28 following a tip-off that combat training sessions were held at night there, Pol Col Kritsana said. Authorities detained a group of Cambodian nationals. Some had no travel documents and some held passports that had expired, he said. An initial investigation found the group had entered Thailand via the Khlong Luek border checkpoint in Sa Kaeo's Aranyaprathet district, prompting a probe against immigration officers based in the two provinces, Pol Col Kritsana said. He said immigration officers have the authority to deny entry to and deport foreigners who violate the immigration law and who are deemed to be national security threats.

So, Cambodians are coming to Thailand illegally, then travelling down south to Pattani to get battle training for Islamist agendas?

    All rather odd.

So, there was a tip-off that combat training sessions were allegedly being held at night at an Islamic school in Thailand but there's no mention in the article of finding any evidence of such activity. I wonder what time the authorities visited the school.

And the OP's title states "Islamic Combat Training School", what is one supposed to comprehend other than that which you suggest I didn't?

Yes, a school was raided and Cambodians arrested, some of whom were allegedly in the country illegally.

    So far that's it.

Bowie's had to mangle this report quite badly to make it fit his agenda.

10 immigration officers transferred in connection with Khmer Muslims in Pattani

Ten immigration police officers have been transferred to inactive posts due to the presence of 11 young Cambodian Muslims who were caught reportedly practising military combat in an Islamic school in the southern province of Pattani.

Immigration police chief Pol Lt-General Surachet Hakpal said the transfer had been ordered after officials found that nine of the 11 Cambodians had entered Thailand on a tourist visa via Sa Kaew province.

One had a permit to work as a household helper, while another was an illegal immigrant.

Of the 10 immigration officials transferred, seven are from Sa Kaew and the remainder from Pattani province. A fact-finding committee will be set up to investigate the officials.

The 11 Cambodians are currently being held for interrogation and will be transferred to Bangkok after 15 days. The suspects will be deported if found innocent, but will face prosecution and deportation if they are found guilty, Surachet said.

The Cambodians, most of them teenagers, were found in the forest behind the school.

Colonel Pramote Prom-in, spokesman for the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4, had earlier said the Islamic school was raided after officials received a tip-off that a group of men were practicing hand-to-hand combat in the premises.

“Their activities were recorded on film as evidence and we only decided to take action after seeing that they were conducting military-style training,” he said. “The school owner has been charged with illegally sheltering foreigners.”
