Anyone know a good Wat/Monastery on the island where a non-Thai speaking falong can spend 2 or 3 days meditating along with some Buddhist teachings?
Thanks.

Wat Falong -
It's a bit off the beaten path but has a very good vibe/healing properties/mind cleansing ting.
And the beer's not bad either.!!
It's not on Samui and I'm pretty sure the retreats are 10 days but Suan Mokkh (Meditation Retreats at the Suan Mokkh International Dharma Hermitage) is not far away.
The Wat in Nathon near the Honda dealership has a monk there who speaks fairly good English. I'm sure he could accommodate your needs somewhere on the island. He sits in the sala as you drive in taking the offerings most days. They are also building some accommodation and teaching rooms at the big standing Buddha that looks out over Lamai. my favourite Buddha on the island.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !
I'm not sure if it's the same one as the above poster but the bigish one between Bo Phut and Chaewang that has the big Sarawastri Statue was quite welcoming when I was there and there is one just outside Lamai on the road to Hua Thanon that could be worth a try too.
Cheers
Thanks for the info. I will try and contact them before my January trip. I doubt that I will be able to stay more than 2 or 3 days, but whatever time I can allow will do me good.

Plai Laem between Bangrak and Cheong Mon.
Hi Rick, we are new here and planning to visit Koh Samui and out islands. We are experienced meditators and can help you to get started. PM me if you want more info.
Rick, thanks for your message. I am new on this forum so I can't PM you back yet, or even post link to the discussion. There is a branch of Suan Mokkha Balarama on Koh Samui that offers 3- and 7-day retreats in ānāpānasati, look up Dipabhāvan Meditation Center - Koh Samui
I'm here (Samui) till February here's a link to the website just Google Immediate Mind
Hello All,
I have already left Koh Samui and never made it to a Wat there. However, I did visit a Wat on Koh Tao a couple of times and this morning I visited a Wat in Prachuap Kirin Khan.
I must confess that Koh Samui was much too "touristy" for me and the Taxi drivers way too greedy.
I am really enjoying Prachuap KK though. I might wind up living here for a while.
Regards to All,
RickThai
