Whale Shark pics from Sail Rock

I've made a book of my underwater photography from a year spent in South East Asia.... We were lucky enough to spend 2 dives with a whale shark at Sail Rock. It was just a little one, maybe 4 meters, but was still awesome! (other pics in the book are from Sipadan & the Philippines).

I've entered it in a contest, but it's one of those popularity contests... you have to get the most votes to become a finalist for judging, so would love it if you checked it out and voted for me!

Vote for this book in the Best Blurb Books Contest

Enter a real competition, Natures Best, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Antibes, then you don't have to trawl for popularity, you could win by ability.

I saw my only ever whale shark at Sail Sock in 1992.

is more likely to get people to vote for a "rivals" work.

We are harsh and fair play there are some nice photos in the book.

One of my dearest friends is one of the worlds great U/W photographers, he was kind enough you may remember to allow me to post some of his work on here. There's a fair few pics in the book I know he would have deleted underwater.

We were chatting recently and I said it must be great with digital to be able to shoot so many more shots on a dive as opposed to the limit of 36 on film. He said that he still only took 18-24 pics a dive. If he doesn't have certain rules satisfied he won't even press the shutter and regularly edits (deletes) underwater. That's perfection.

Sorry for the spam... I've been reading the boards for a while, but don't post much, as I'm not living in Thailand like most people on here. Just thought some people might be interested, if not no big deal.

Lovethai - Thanks! But no I'm not a professional photographer
Bobcock - I have entered a couple of those contests, but as I said I'm not a professional and am still learning. Will probably enter a few more this year as well.

For those that are interested here are a couple of pics I should have posted the first time:

Enjoyed the pics. Been to Sail Rock multiple times but was never fortunate enough to swim with a Whale Shark. Thanks.

All the whale sharks spotted at sail rock are smallish, 4 metres and under.

I've often wondered why the mature ones never show up ?

    Foked if I know.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing, I wanted to dive with some whale sharks a few times, but it never did work out for me yet.

That would have been amazing !

The turtle shot is excellent! I think its a good representation of diving in Thailand as well.

I was working on an UW book project (i.e. my own pers' project) - its been 4 years in the making. Unfortunately probably another 10 years to go!

Great pics of a magnificent creature. I have never see one. It must be a thrill to be so close to it. I hope future generations will be able to take similar pictures.
