Nan Provincial Roads 1216 - 1217 - and 1028
I am interested to know if anyone in our TD Travel Forum has ever driven from Rong Kwan off Hwy 101 to Na Noi, via Provincial Roads 1217 > 1216 > 1028? It appears to be a lot shorter than going all the way up to Wiang Sa, and then back south to Na Noi via Rte. 1026 - which is the so called preferred way.
Family and friends tell me one must have a 4 X 4 vehicle to manage the steep inclines, the windy and poorly maintained road, and at times actual large pot holes and road obstructions. Thanks in advance for your inputs and viable feedback.

Route 1216 & 1028 between Huai Rong and Na Noi
Just wondering if anyone in our forum has by now travelled Routes 1216 and 1028 between the Huai Rong waterfall near main Highway 101 (Rong Kwan) and Nanoi, since I started this thread a while back in 2011?
It appears to be such a terrific shortcut coming from the south on 101, and wanting to travel east towards Na Noi - and thereby bypassing Wiang Sa.
I heard the road is a "real bear", but it may have been improved by now???
Cheers and Happy New Year.
