Ryanair passengers fuming as ‘flight lands in Greece not Spain.
The couple had been due to fly to Spain for a holiday – and ended up in Zakynthos, Greece
A couple have slammed Ryanair after being flown to the wrong country, refused an apology, and left out of pocket.
The budget airline has even blamed the pair for the entire incident, which saw them end up in Greece instead of Spain, reports The Mirror.
The couple were able to board and depart on the flight that they were never meant to be on which has led to questions around airport security at Stansted.
Humaira and Farooq Shaikh were due to travel to the Spanish city of Seville on October 4 this year for a holiday together.
They turned up at the airport, checked in, going through pre-flight checks at the boarding gate and again once they were on the plane – including their boarding passes being checked.
But the plane was not going to Spain, but instead to Zakynthos, Greece – 1,200 miles away.

"The couple got off the plane still believing they were in Spain, left the airport and got into a taxi .
It was only then that they realized what had happened. "
" Our phones were saying ‘Welcome to Greece’ and then our taxi driver said ‘this isn’t Spain,’ Humaira explained."
To which Humaira replied " Are you sure?"
