I never gave much consideration to visiting Ko Phi Phi. Of course, it's a backpacker scene, not that I have anything against young folks having some fun. But I had a curiosity to see the island and, given the current situation, what better time to go?
Booked the Harbour View Hotel on the isthmus, with the harbor in front and the beach in back, just a few minutes from the pier.

The resort had two pools, a long, narrow one between the two buildings and a deeper one, 1.7 m, in the back towards the beach. I preferred the deeper pool. There was only one other room occupied during my stay at the Harbour View.

Like Phuket Patong, about 90% of the places were closed. There was only one open bar, The Beach Bar. Fortunately, it was right in front of my hotel and I spent lots of time there sipping mango margaritas and watching the ships come in.

Only a few restaurants were open. Efe Mediterranean, a family-run Turkish restaurant had great food and a 20% covid discount. Lamb skewers were just 280, served on a sizzling platter.
