I don't see a topic on Koh Kood so thought I'd start one, it's the best kept secret in Thailand.
Koh Kood is the easternmost island in the Gulf, just before Cambodia. Like it's neighbor Koh Chang, it's oval shaped, but about half the size and much less developed. There are only a few thousand inhabitants, and goods tend to be more expensive because, unlike Koh Chang, it lacks a car ferry service.
Boonsiri operates a high speed catamaran that makes the journey in an hour for 500 baht. Upon arrival at Ao Salad, a complementary baht bus will take you to your accommodation. Alternately, during high season, you could take a speed boat from Bang Bao on Koh Chang for 900, with a stop at Koh Mak on the way, but make sure you have strong sun screen and beware they're not equipped with life preservers. Fortunately, I'm a good swimmer.

I stay either at Koh Kood Beach Resort or Paradise Beach Resort. Koh Kood Beach Resort is nice, with small A-frame huts, but has a very small beach.

There's a public beach that's never crowded
You can rent a villa from High Season Resort on the public beach for about 25,000 per night or more, depending on season. I prefer to stay elsewhere and use the public beach for free.

This isn't the most expensive place to stay on the island, however. That distinction belongs to Sovena Kiri, the most exclusive resort in Thailand. Book your 6-bedroom villa here.

There's only one farang restaurant on the Island, Pizza and Pasta, run by a very friendly Italian guy named Alex. Stop in and enjoy some fine food while he clues you in on places to go.

For nightlife, Jong plays guitar at the Eco Bar. There's alsolutely no P4P available anywhere, so bring your own squeeze.

Hope you enjoyed this tour of Koh Kood, I strongly recommend it for a 3-day getaway, longer tends to get boring.
