Choose your four drinks-night posters . . . for a chat . . .

. . . not from the ones you already know, always get along with or evidently like anyway, rather ones you find interesting and would challenge you in discussions. (not necessarily in a good or bad way)

This is not a shit-canning of posters, rather the opposite.

I'd choose:

Klondyke - I'm sure face-to-face he's not as virulently anti-West as he pretends to be, plus there are just so many topics that are covered in a few hours that some anti-Brit/American/Western comments would be negligible. I'm sure he has some fascinating stories to share.

Elche - he has an infectious zeal that would definitely enliven a discussion over a few drinks and I'm sure he has far more interests than just political analyses.

hallelujah - aside from having bad taste in football teams and being English, both an unfortunate coming together of happenstance at birth so he is forgiven. I like his thoughts and different destinations, both physical and mental - a good balance with elche and Klondyke as well.

Seekingasylum - let's be honest, who wouldn't want an old version of Waldorf and Stattler sitting there, complaining into his beer but coming out with verbal combinations true of the best of his Irish heritage - plus - what a combination of the above!

I'm sure this will turn into a shitfest again, as per usual, but it's worth a try.

I'm honoured and hopefully we can have that drink in KL sooner rather than later. :)

To be honest, I'd struggled to pick 4 and would give anyone a chance off the Internet especially with a pint. I used to think he was a total nob - and still do from time to time - but I think Jeff would be interesting company as would SA.

Too many to choose from though really.

Why limit the party to four? There are plenty of intelligent posters, despite the ravings of The Gent.

The Real KW. In real company he can’t hide behind his fake facade of pretend dumb.

The Real Backspin, although he would be silent and neutered by lack of access to google stupid.

The Real Topper because he has a wealth of considered intelligence to share, and socially he’s quite good company.

The Real PAG is not someone you might keep on a short leash, and he can back it up with real world experience.

The real Cyrille, because he tries so hard to hide his light under a socialist bushel.

The Real Ant, who I suspect has an underlying intellect, hidden by online bombast.

These are just a few of the more worthy posters, selected for entertainment value, because in most cases, I have either had personal online interaction with them, or actually met them. There are plenty of others I’m sure, I just don’t engage too many unless they present an opportunity for worthy discourse.

I enjoyed a real time chat with PH, who comes across as much more thoughtful and interesting than his more combative and prolific online persona. I guess Covid means he has too much time on his hands?
