The year both my parents moved to London aged 20. Met, made me big sister and got married. After which my dad continued meeting lots of women and making lots of babies for the duration of the marriage.

Mass produced sugary products weren't popular.
It's like (most) of China now. People go the market daily, buy their fresh vegetables and a little meat and take it home and cook it.
